Kenny Rogers - After All This Time Lyrics
We used to think our love would be
A fantasy
But things don't always turn out how
They're supposed to be
And I won't surrender
With so much at stake
After all this time
Did you think I'd let you slip away from me
Girl, we've come too far
Just to turn our love into a memory
Did you think that I could push aside
All that we've been through
Me and you, never give up trying
Easy to turn and walk away
When love goes wrong
Harder to stay and work it out
But if the love is strong
We must choose
To hold on to something
We don't wanna lose
After all this time
Did you think I'd let you slip away from me
Girl, we've come too far
Just to turn our love into a memory
Did you think that I could push aside
All that we've been through
Me and you, never give up trying
After all this time
Hearts can break
And I won't surrender
With so much at stake
After all this time
Did you think I'd let you slip away from me
Girl, we've come too far
Just to turn our love into a memory
Did you think that I could push aside
All that we've been through
Me and you, never give up trying
After all this time
After all this time

Kenny Rogers After All This Time Comments
Kenny is simply the best
Heart warming song. Thanks kenny.
Me and my love separated, it just didn't work out. Some of her family took exception to me so evetually things became too hard. We decided to become friends. It still isn't easy, but I take the rough with the smooth. She's still in my life all these years on and I won't ever push aside what we have.

The best songs ever..so meaningful. Emotions you can't express
After all this time
We used to think our love would be a fantasy
But things don't always turn out loud
There supposed to be
Hearts can break
And I won't surrender with so much at stake.
After all this time
Did you think I let you slip away from me
Girl, we've come too far
Just to turn our love into a memory.
Did you think that I can push you aside
All that we've been through
Me and you, never give a try
After all this time.
Easy to turn and walk away
When love goes wrong
Harder to stay and work it out
But if the love is strong
We must choose to hold on to something
We don't wanna lose.
After all this time...
Unfortunately those emotional songs are not for our time now :(((
I love this song
Is much better the Think Out Loud version by Peter Beckett
Amazing song and the whole album is magic, more westcoast oriented than usually country-pop ground.....song written by Peter Beckett and Steve Dorff and produced by Jay Graydon!
It's more country than you seem to think. Certainly a huge west coast influence, but country is a divese genre, that's always evolving and Kenny a diverse artist. That's why country being his base is perfect. Besides, this album was nowhere near the most out there Kenny Rogers album in terms of where influences came from. Not by a long shot. His 1979 album "Kenny" had heavy disco and funk influences. That was the album he "strayed" the furthest from traditional country sounds, and that was the album that featured "Coward of the county." Says it all
