Think PK's in a position now to just do what he enjoys and make the music he likes. This song seems to indicate a man at a point of introspection and looking at the bigger picture of his journey. Very folksy.

It might be a little religious or spiritual. So bearing witness (in the stand) in some way to the one (person or diety or universe) he will go with when his time comes. Note the bible. But he isn't strongly religious so symbolic more.
