Keith Whitley - Dance With Me Molly Lyrics
They say he's crazy
Pay him no mind
He loves a woman
That lives in his mind
They say a stranger
And left with his woman
And he lost his mind
When the band starts playin'
A song from yesterday
Ah, he'll look at the bottle
And here's what he'll say
Dance with me Molly
Their playin' our song
It's almost midnight
He sees yesterday's woman
In tonight's glass of wine
He says dance with me Molly...
Dance with me Molly...
Just one more time
He holds to the bottle
Like it wears his name
But if that makes him happy
Huh, it ain't no shame
So buy him a bottle
And he'll be o.k.
Put a quarter in the juke box
And you'll hear him say
Dance with me Molly
Their playin' our song
It's almost midnight
And time to go home
He sees yesterday's woman
In tonight's glass of wine
He says dance with me Molly...
Dance with me Molly...
Just one more time
Woh, dance with me Molly
Their playin' our song
It's almost midnight
And time to go home
He sees yesterday's woman
In tonight's glass of wine
He says dance with me Molly...
Dance with me Molly...
Just one more time
He says dance with me Molly...
Ahh, dance with me Molly...

Keith Whitley Dance With Me Molly Comments
He was lead singer for Ralph Stanley in the early to mid Seventies and later on with JD Crow and the new South before he broke in to country. A couple of songs I would recommend when he was with Crow are Mr Bojangles and Bartenders Blues on you tube but there are many more. His voice was just incredible, he had immeasurable talent, so sad he left us to soon.
Absolutely the best of the best! I remember listening to him when I was 5 years old. I'm from Sandy Hook, KY so I knew Keith. His voice always sent chills up my spine. Loved and missed beyond words!
We lost Keith Whitley to soon to alcohol addiction at the age of 34 years old when he passed away from alcohol and every song he sang there was meanings for every song he sang there was a purpose for every song he sang just lost him to soon at the age of 34 years
Even Though Keith Died. he is Still to this day one of the most Popular Country Music singers ever to grace the Stage and David Kidd you are Totally Right.
Listening in 2019 still loving every minute

Thank you for leaving your music behind... beautiful song..miss that voice...😊🎸🎶💞
Keith was a true talent
Sure ain't nothing like this on Radio today :( Keith Whitley is what Real Country is...RIP Keith Whitley & RIP Country Music
In my book no one better then the one and only great Keith Whitley!!!
😍💙🎶🌹🥰
You know every song KEITH sang was absolutely amazing and very touching in some way
Puts it all out there in this song 1 of my favorites!!!!!
Purest voice ever recorded .This man was the absolute perfection , his vocals will never be outdone by anyone IMO.
carol vine true very true he will always be number one to me in COUNTRY music needs to be inducted into the COUNTRY music Hall of fame
carol vine you could be right Carol, Very few people have perfect pitch and control of their voice. George Jones Vern Gosdin and of course Keith Whitley is included in that list. The man's voice was absolutely incredible.
Never anyone more beautiful!!
The one the only Legend. So miss him, but thankful for the music he left us, a piece of himself is in each song
Yes, me too.The vocals that no one will ever have. His range was better than all the rest ,and he made it sound so easy.
Goes hard
Sure does, 1 of my favs.Love Keith.
We lost Keith whitley too soon as well as john lennon and elvis Presley gone to soon
Guys are feeling a little bit cheated two days before Keith Whitley died he was supposed to come to Stillwater Oklahoma to a club called tumbleweeds but he had this episode and the tickets are still laying on my wall God bless him I can't wait to meet him with the big man keep listening to him guys he's great thank you
Dale Earnhardt said if Davey Allison had lived he wouldn't have seven championships. If Keith Whitley had lived George Strait wouldn't have over 50 #1 songs. I'm not knocking Strait, but the truth's is just that.
George Strait is a great singer and deserved the hits but it was because Keith was not in the running!
Strait is good but Whitley is the best
Same for Kenny Chesney. Kenny may not have broken through as a hit act if Keith were alive. Kenny recorded many of Keith's songs. Keith Whitley would have had several of Kenny's #1 Billboard country hits like "Me and You". "That's Why I'm Here", "I Want My Rib Back", and "When I Close My Eyes". Among George Strait's #1 country songs( that was not a #1) that Keith would have recorded and taken to #1 if alive in the 1990's was "When Did You Stop Loving Me." "Lovebug" is another song that would have hit #1 for Keith Whitley, instead of George Strait recording. Just saying. Heck, "No Shirts, No Shoes, No Problem" would have been a #1 Billboard country song for Keith Whitley in the late 90's or early 2000's. Who knows.
David Kidd you damn right. You beat me to it. This is just the truth. In my mind Keith Whitley is the King of country and he'd have sat on that throne as the greatest of ALL TIME. In my opinion.
i have to respectfully disagree, Strait was making number ones left and right BEFORE whitley came along. He was still getting number ones WHILE Whitley was in his prime. BOTH are great singers, i dont think its fair to knock one or the other. But to say Strait wouldnt have 50 number ones if Whitley was still alive, is asinine.
love this song
Talk about sad songs~~~WOW
No matter what Keith is beltn out it's from the heart to the heart.RIP Keith. The King is gone. He knew what life was about.
Everyone else here to hear a good country song, I'm here because I'm the guy who lost his mind.
