As a record producer many years back, I remember really liking this track... the snare sound is nice, but the "vocal recording quality" was really an attraction for me... it's very warm, transparent, smooth, pleasant on the ear, etc... it's not always easy to obtain at my "project level" recording studio when you don't hv all the expensive mics, mic-pre's, tube compressor's, etc... As a songwriter I also like the chords, melody and vox track too, very nice !!!

As with any song that I don't quite understand the words to, sometimes it just isn't what the song is saying with its words, but the energy coming out of it. This song is a good lens.

Oh, my favorite song from K.D. in the big 80's country scene! I was so deeply in love with this tune! Must have listened to it hundreds of times back when i was just a young kid fresh out of high school. Hauntingly beautiful ballad! Really tore up something deep down inside. Lonesome introspection soaring like a lost spirit seeking a place in the sun! Whenever i felt lonesome myself back then this song would comfort me. My God, can that voice sing!
