Phantom was the first musical I saw was I saw 12. Sarah Brighman was Christine then. I got into Harwick College Music Camp the year before I Graduated high school singing Wishing You Were Somehow Here Again. Now I after I had to leave choir cause it was way to far away from me I taught myself to sing opera be listening to Sarah's CD's. I've also played piano since I was 3, and still do.

UNA VOZ EXQUISITA

First time I ever heard of her, was last week for the Queen's 90th party behind Windsor Castle. She sang very well. I was impressed. Doesn't matter she is not singing at the Met or anywhere else Opera, other people Mario Lanza, never made it to the Met or any other Opera houses in the world, and he sang so well (tenor) at least you could hear the words he sang. I miss Pavarotti, he was the best TENOR of all time.

It's not where the singer sings, it's not what the singer sings. It's how the singer sings.

My Dad loved opera. Tenors were his favourite until he saw ( and heard ) Katherine Jenkins. I'm not sure what he liked best about her, but he was a man after all.

It's not opera, it's from a musical. She has never sung in an opera although she has had classical training.

Likely she will never sing in staged opera as she lacks the technique.

Is it just me or is her singing in general very emotionless? It seems like she doesn't put as much work into her interpretation as much as the hitting notes. Very annoying.

Very true,,if you are comparing against Gerard Butlers song in the Phantom movie..So much emotion!!Those emotion makes the song much better to listen..

She's beautiful and appealing but she lacks the passion.

Interesting...you're aspiring and she's a dame worth millions. What does that tell you? Further, someone told me a long, long time ago to "be nice to those you meet while you're on your way up because you never know who'll you'll meet when you're on your way down." No one that I know of was ever successful by putting down those who are/were on top while they were just starting the climb. If you're seriously aspiring, you need to learn to STFU and start being nice to those who are ahead of you and who might actually be able to help you along the way..

Have you seen her performance in Doctor Who's 2010 xmas special? She was fantastic in that, as a character and singer.

She made a choice to go down the crossover route rather than Opera. She would have had to train a lot more to reach opera standard.

I love Katherine Jenkins . She is  a beautiful , beautiful woman with a lovely voice.

Too much vibrato, and @ 1:10 she looses the note...I couldn't listen to any more of her.  Jackie Evancho blew her away with this one, and I have now idea why JEM sang with her at all.   The best duet that JEM had was with Barbra Streisand(DWM)...then with Susan Boyle(DWM).

Powerful song, but her voice is too powerful for the song. Seems to me she holding back to get it right. But she great I love it!!!
