Kate Bush - Snowflake Lyrics

I was born in a cloud...
Now I am falling.
I want you to catch me.
Look up and you'll see me.
You know you can hear me.
The world is so loud. Keep falling. I'll find you.
We're over a forest.
There's millions of snowflakes.
We're dancing.
The world is so loud. Keep falling and I'll find you.
I am ice and dust. I am sky.
I can see horses wading through snowdrifts.
My broken hearts, my fabulous dances.
My fleeting song, fleeting.
The world is so loud. Keep falling. I'll find you.
My broken hearts, my fabulous dance.
My fleeting song.
My twist and shout.
I am ice and dust and light. I am sky and here.
I can hear people.
I think you are near me now.
The world is so loud. Keep falling. I'll find you.
We're over a forest.
It's midnight at Christmas.
The world is so loud. Keep falling. I'll find you.
I think I can see you.
There's your long, white neck.
The world is so loud. Keep falling. I'll find you.
Now I am falling.
Look up and you'll see me.
The world is so loud. Keep falling. I'll find you.
In a moment or two.
I'll be with you.
The world is so loud. Keep falling. I'll find you.
Be ready to catch me.
The world is so loud. Keep falling. I'll find you.

Kate Bush does things with her voice that simply no one else can. When I heard this album for the first time it was an amazing experience

  9. C.... D....

Funnily enough my geography teacher brought me here. He was a complete legend and had a great taste in music. Kate Bushs voice is beyond anything ive heard. Steven Wilson said a similar comment, she can do things with her voice no one else can.

  10. .... ....

listening to this on 35 degrees

Please see my channel for a magical tour of 96 of Kate Bush's songs, including Snowflake. The playlist order is to tell a story/create a mood "I was born in a cloud". Cloudbusting you could say.

  14. B.... M....

There must be something in the " mature" Kate that I have no gift to receive. Not as brilliant as in the old days I must admit. Not with a blessing of an ever young and careless Apollo anymore. But perhaps with the blessing from wise Athena now? I don't know but I remain a fan of her and her work before 1993. She was a pure miracle then and I doubt there would be anybody so talented and inspired as she was then...

  15. n.... n....

so beautiful, so simple and touches so deep, thank you, Kate !

  16. V.... O....

Walk through winter and autumn streets and listen to this. Winter air magic.

  17. T.... S....

Yep, this is the one <3

  18. R.... F....

I had never such a reaction to a song in my entire life. It was an absolute breakdown, I cried so deeply, so painfully, so real... And it happened the first time I heard the song. Like all my heartbreaks, loneliness, desperation, broken dreams, missunderstanding all they came to me, but this time I faced them, and the song is so beautiful, that i purifies you and let you feel the hope and the eternity of everything. Magical song, so greatful that people like Kate Bush still exist.

    R.... F....

Rain Falls Me too. I was pregnant with our son during Christmas in 1985. He is now 32. This song makes me cry. I sent it to him to tell him how much I love him. My first baby.

    R.... F....

There is so much more to music than just music and Kate not only makes an attractive cover but an excellent book too!

  19. E.... G....

when he sings "my fabulous dance" I get so thrilled knowing he's definitely Kate's son by his inflection. I love this song so much

  23. c.... z....

my first impression after the Aerial album (which was kinda full of hooks) - boooring. but after a while this track really started to work its magic:) basically the last four minutes are "just" fade out but it's done really well.

  24. M.... N....

This song is very beautiful . Amazing singer . Her voice is phenomenal .

  25. R.... D....

for months...half a year, this album was all that did it for me. It's so beyond...

  26. L.... L....

Albert's voice coupled with Kate's is most beautiful indeed.

  27. D.... R....

    i feel relaxing irena

  28. R.... N....

Dear snowflake, in a moment or two I'll be with you. Keep falling...

  29. T.... G....

I discovered Kate 30 years ago. She was a mesmerizing artist then and continues to reach beyond where most people stop growing long before the span of her career. Beautiful song and album.

  30. P.... L....

    this is perfection

  31. T.... B....

My first cassette tape I bought at 14 was "The Whole Story".. I am 42 now. I am a devoted appreciator of Kate Bush. True art is that which endures an ever changing, dispassionate taste; reflecting the evolution of the artist.

    T.... B....

wow. some first cassette! my first kate was lionheart, when it came out, vinyl. my first music, an album, was all things must pass, in 1970 at the age of 10. jcpenney in fact. triple album might have been $9. more like mars now to me than earth. sheesh, that was a half year of allowance!

  32. W.... ....

Some parts of it kind of sounds like blow away, one of my favorite songs

  33. F.... d....

    Pristine

  34. M.... R....

I've been writing a book called Snowflake. When I'd finished the outline for the story I didn't know this song existed. I went searching for pieces to include in a 'soundtrack' and naturally I looked up 'Snowflake'. When I came across this my heart literally froze in my chest. It was my character...and his living experience. It was his song. It was almost like Kate Bush and I were on the same frequency listening to the same spirit speaking to us. My through words in a book, her's through the voice of her beautiful son. I am still haunted by this song...and I listen to it every day and find new inspiration each time I hear it.

    M.... R....

#bluejupiter100 Just call me a White Walker then 😉

    M.... R....

#WalkingBlues I have, indeed, been a fan of Kate since circa 'Hounds of Love'. Naturally the MTV video for Running Up That Hill was my first exposure to her music. I've loved it ever since.

    M.... R....

That's beautiful. The title of the song 'Snowflake' has particular contemporary significance "the snowflake generation" used as a derogative not only to mean "you are not a unique snowflake" but also "you are liable to melt away in to wet, limp, nothingness at the first bit of heat". I did initially find 50 Words For Snow album to feel insubstantial. But when the listener has some substance, or at least experience of substance in the physical or cultural environment, and appreciation of people young and older and inbetween on a regular basis, you can fill in your own pictures inbetween each slightly different repeat and it no longer sounds unnecessarily long but just right. Not a song or album to be listened to every day but on dark, magical, nights, literally or metaphorically.

    M.... R....

Fascinating Mist. Kate is an inspiration and this album is unlike any other. I am a writer too. Amazing how you connected your inspirations through Snowflake.

  35. t.... ....

Beautiful pop minimalism. Crosses over to Philip Glass/Steve Reich-Land, but veddy, veddy eccentrically British. Daring. Radiohead takes the same kind of risks. Listen to Codex on King of Limbs. A stripped down yet lush, gorgeous soundscape...

  36. T.... E....

This song makes me cry everytime.

    T.... E....

:( I love Kate, but since a few months ago everything of hers makes me cry

    T.... E....

    Likewise

  37. B.... B....

    you are right, 😊

  38. R.... g....

Those who don't know it ,don't get Kate's superbly nuanced performance of this song. This song needs to be "felt".

  39. L.... e....

    Very Euphoric

  40. E.... A....

    i'm ice... and dust...
    i am SKY...

    E.... A....

    @Egor Ananyev and dust <3

    E.... A....

    you're right! :)

  41. B.... B....

So beautiful.  When Albert's voice trembles slightly at 7:53, the heartbreak of the song is officially sealed.

    B.... B....

Brian Brazill I love his voice too, did you listen Tawny Moon? That's a beautiful song...

  42. H.... ....

Her best since Hounds of Love!..

    H.... ....

    +WhostheMAC1 Agreed

    H.... ....

    Definately !

    H.... ....

the whole album? I politely disagree, think The Sensual World or Aerial were better for sure. but still solid:)

  43. P.... ....

Should we blame society or Skrillex?

  44. R.... V....

i wish i would have found a place to listen to the whole cd without having to search for the next song on youtube. but wow i really loved this whole cd. loved how slow and minimal it was. it was very sensual, more so than most music. i mean.. everything is sensual.. but this was.. hm otherworldly i guess. i wish i could say more about the structure of the cd, but unfortunately i didn't listen to it, in a way i would like. i'll try to buy the cd soon. but wow this is an exciting cd from her.

    R.... V....

In my day we would crack open our wallets and buy the disc. You young kids make everything so difficult.

    R.... V....

bluejupiter100 I have the cd now :) I try to listen to it every winter... I’m going to live in snow for the first time ever, and this album came to mind :)

  45. s.... ....

Thank you for the up load. It's just beautiful.

  46. b.... ....

The use of the treble voice is also reminiscent of Blake, who used treble solo in the song "Walking in the Air." The transitory nature of this vocal instrument is an apt pairing for a song about snow, another transitory entity. And the pleasure of her music is the pure aural pleasure of the notes as the ear experiences them. You may not get it, but there are intellective, aural and literary pleasures to be had in her music. Can't you just say" I don't get it" wish us well and be on your way?

  47. b.... ....

not only do I love this music, I know exactly why I love it. Kate Bush and her music have been inspiring me for 25 years. I am not likely to change my listening habits because your ears aren't equipped to handle this. What the hell does "offtrack in the lyricism" mean? It's bogus criticism. Do you even know what lyricism is? This is clearly referencing Howard Blake's music for "The Snowman" and is one of the few, perhaps the only, mother/son collaboration I can think of.

  48. b.... ....

@chiseidous your comments are off-color and off-base. I agree that you have a perfect right to dislike something. You have absolutely no right to insult my intelligence or preferences.

  49. M.... ....

    infectious song

  50. P.... ....

"Snowflake" is a masterpiece...I am not surprised that there are those who find this song and her new album too "out there" for them...as is always the case with something so extraordinary.

  51. C.... ....

You may have just created an avid kate bush fan. I got chills.

  52. a.... ....

Absolutely STUNNING on every level. Lush, evocative, emotional, and full of beautiful imagery. A perfect song.
