I live near the Peak District. During the winter months I take myself off there and sometimes find myself parked up listening to this beautiful album. It conjours up its theme so perfectly. During the recoding of the record, I believe that Kate threw a quilt under the grand piano lid - to dampen the strings and invoke the sound of piano being played in the deep snow. Now THAT is why this lady is so far ahead. Beautiful.

Wonderful! Kate sounds just as good as the old magic! Richer, deeper in a way. Elton is brilliant. I would have thought that they were from different worlds, but they're absolutely not. The very best that England has to offer!

She should have gotten Peter Gabriel to sing it. Elton schmucks it up. Sorry, I just don't believe him singing it.

@herr lastmann I don't really think that's relevant. The size of Iceland doesn't affect her musical talent whatsoever. She's not even mainstream successful anymore. It's not a matter of popularity. It's a matter of innovation and musical decisions. You don't have to put one artist down to appreciate another. I think Bjork and Kate Bush appeal to me in similar ways

You sound very closed when it comes to music. Personally I like to explore but if you want to try to put people down over the Internet that's your lack of good choices not mine

It wasn't meant as a judgement of any sort.
I just learnt to love to listen to so many icelandic musicians and bands, a lot of them touring my town eventually, that I started to wonder about it.

Lady gaga is garbage. Kate Bush is real.
