I ahhhhhhhh.... I kinda just dont like the pacing, Or his voice. No rude comments in fact I can hear the beuty in it it's just not my style. These guys are like swallow the sun you know, and I just dont, or cant at least relate to it. I'm not all that emotional, or into sadder sounding songs. So I give these guys credit where it's due, The songs are pleasant just... Does anyone else feel the same way? I mean this slower paced style isn't me, and if they have more feel good songs than please show me. But for now with panic at the disco, and swallow the sun, these guys are just that an alternative band. No hate please just a comment to see where I can get responses from music listeners.

it's alright, people have different taste. It's not a crime to dislike some music that others like.
Katatonia is not really a feel-good band, so you probably won't find a lot of songs that you like, though they have a lot of heavy songs as well, that are not that slow.

I know its alright for the more level headed fans in any community but there are childish emo freaks that think katatonia is the orchestra of heaven and it's the best thing, right up with sex and craiglist hookers. I mean people still hate each other for there tastes, just look at the war between mushroomheads and maggots -yeah thats still a thing. But I respect you for not viciously attacking me and instead giving some helpful advice. On one last note I honestly thought when reading this there would be like 5 or so comments saying how you and I are faggots and we need to drink bleach

All was cool *until* you mentioned Panic at the Disco--there just cannot be any sort of comparison between the 2. Completely different musical genres, styles, popularity, sound, audiences...PaTD is a pretty mainstream, highly popularized pop rock band with a large, predominantly teen/YA following, at least from what I've heard. Nothing more to it. How you brought it into relation with metal is beyond me; they are fuckin *worlds* apart. Swallow the Sun has a rich, deep, & quite heavy sound has nothing to do with it--it fits into a few subgenres of metal, of which Doom is the primary one. And it is far less popular than PaTD.

I didn't mean it in terms of style or even popularity but what I said was they're alternative groups, Patd is emo pop punk and these guys are doom metal, I mean generally under the umbrella of alternative sounds like that not to compare the two. Patd isn't even really rock let alone metal!

The Great Cold Distance is an amazing album I'd recommend listening too. It's mostly heavy and the messages are great. But yes, Katatonia is not a feel-good band. But, they are real and that is enough for most. Trust too that we appreciate you not being a dick about your opinion either lol. So many just freak out and want to troll. So thank you for offering a normal human opinion lol.
