I found this band on a whim and theyve impressed me every step of the way. Can't say that about many artists especially because of the music I'm trying to find.

For those of you who know the anime "Soul Eater" , this is how I see things: this is not a copy of Tool.
Far from it, it is like Tool is the weapon, and Karnivool the wielder. Together they have made my life the incredible experience it is everyday, this everyday discovery journey is just so much richer, with so much power and raw emotion bursting through my ears... Fuck, what an amazing experience it is to live in this timeline! I really can't imagine what my life would be without these two bands!

I wish they were still an alt rock/metal band, not a prog one. Themata is just something else!

They are not really 100% prog, you can still feel some old alt Themata vibe.

hmm... i always considered Themata Prog, i'm a prog head, and it's my favorite album by them.

i found dream theatre, but i wanted more, i found tool, and still wanted more, when i found these guys, i found it all.

Ian Kenny is their best and main vocalist. However he also has a band called Birds of Tokyo.

Karnivool is by far my favorite band ever . Whenever people talk about mastodon or a perfect circle and are those types of people, I feel like I'm giving them the best gift in the world by telling them about karnivool

But I love all three based on relevancy in my life. I found A Perfect Circle first, then Mastodon and then Karnivool. Each holds a completely different style in history.

This band is criminally underrated. Hell, they are criminally under-heard of. If someone in my area even knew who they were I'd faint.

Actually Sound Awake is easier to listen to for me. I listened to that one first. It's fine but I wouldn't listened to it again. Then I listened to Themata. It's hard hitting and got my attention but the range of of the instruments has a inverse parabola which I like as most albums like to build.

Artistry is about doing what you want not caring what other people try to tell you what is real or not. That means sweet fuckall as its subjective.

Some people like this album more and some people like their other works more. To each person the music is interpreted differently. How we receive the interpretation of the sound is whether we like or not like such an interpretation.

Some people may hate a particular song/album yet hear it differently later on and love it.
