Kamelot - The Great Pandemonium Lyrics
War, war, war, war, war, war, war...
On a silent shore
I spoke to God
The sun is down
Assemble the great pandemonium
One more down by the brook of Babylon
One more down in accordance with my fate
One long drift across the lake of Avalon
One more trip that I must create
And my eyes sweep a shore
that was always there
A blood red line
Through the sonisphere
I sense it's the great pandemonium
One more, Just one more
Just one, Just one more day
One more day by the pits of hell
Just one more when even yesterday was too late
One more thought that I had to sell
One last trick that you can't debate
War
On a silent shore
I confronted fear
I spoke to God
But he wasn't there
The sun is down
And the war begun
Assemble the great pandemonium
[Growls:]
Break down
Got to break down
Break down
And my eyes sweep a shore
That was always there
A blood red line
Through the sonisphere
I can't resolve where it's coming from
I sense it's the great pandemonium
On a silent shore
I confronted fear
I spoke to God
But he wasn't there
The sun is down
And the war begun
Assemble the great pandemonium
Just one, just one, just one more day
Just one, just one, just one more day
Just one, just one more
War

Is this song perfect or what?
Love this song, easily one of my favs by Kamelot. Couldn’t help but hear a similarity to Lies by Stabbing Westward. Am I going crazy?
Khan: I am assuming direct control.
At 2:30 she slightly blinks (look at her right eye) indicating she's not just a corpse being mangled but still alive - and feels everything that's happening to her body. Gruesome thought. I love such details in music videos.
So that's what happened to General Zod after Batman V Superman.
Clipe magnífico!amo Kamelot ,pena que Roy não está mais na banda, uma das vozes mais lindas que já ouvi!😍
2018 \m/
The last good song from Kamelot.
the fucking goosebumps ... \m/
We miss u Roy :(
wht happen to roy?
This song tells the story of a man suffering a mental breakdown so dramatic and so complete that it can only be conveyed with a metaphor of the ultimate battle between humanity and the demonic hordes. At the time of writing this song, lyricist Roy Khan was extremely burned out, which ultimately resulted in his departure from the band. A music video was released for this song, and two days later Kamelot announced that Khan had fallen ill and would be taking a break from the band. Later it was revealed that he had actually resigned, but a public announcement was delayed in case he recovered and changed his mind. The timing of this has lead to speculation that Khan wanted this song to be his farewell to the fans.
Wow really?
I can kinda see where he's coming from. I just got through a phase where my mind kinda looked the same (or comparable to Metachaos, which is a somewhat similar video).
I never caught on that in the lyrics before until I read a psych students analysis of the lyrics and Roy. It all made sense when in a blog post on Myspace(?) that the last line Roy typed was "God was there after all" a counter to the line in this song "I spoke to God but he wasn't there."
@A. M. could you share a link to this analysis, please?
@Carin found it

Fuck my life, that outro..
Best part 3:26 💚
Respect from saudi arabia
I kame a lot
If this is what Roy makes when a loved one dies, imagine if his football team lost.
Do we miss Roy Khan or what?
Ksabrs45 of course
Khan we get him back? Kamelot is not the same since he left the band.
que som da porra, esse tom extremo na musica a deixou perfeita
The solo is amazing!!!

ahhhh...the great khan
Strange. The same video in KAMELOT channel does not pop out when I search for it :/
Phyrexia. I see it here.
EMRAKUL
Edward Trinh Nah. machine corpses.
This kicks so much ass
This video is amazing!!!! ImI
Anyone else noticed the tarantula on the roof as part of the crypt at 0:10?
I see it now, lol. Only after watching this video many times
And then Roy became a born again christian. great singer, fucking moron.
Brainwashing at its finest... a damn shame.
Phil Giordana Oh shit, that's what happened??
No not that way!
He already was a Christian. He just left Kamelot because he had a burn-out and some other healthy/private problems.
I, as a (still!) big Kamelot fan and fellow Christian, respect his decisions. He wants to spend more time with his family and serve the church.
PS
If you read his departure statement he wrote to the fans: his last sentence is "The good news is: God was there after all".

カーンさん本当かっこいい
And Roy Khan found God...
Roy! u left fhe band just before my concert in Kraków! Arghhh!
Bow down, ye pathetic mortals and despair before the mighty Squid Chair!
vsGoliath suck it
This video is still freaking awesome!!!
Maybe their worst album from the Khan era
Wish my office chair looked like that.
"A blood red line through the sonisphere."
what the fuck is a "sonisphere"?
i keep looking it up but all i get is some concert thing.
@SidNightWalker hahaha yeah i see it now !
Sonis comes from the latin it means SOUND, so, it's a soundsphere ;)
Hugs from Brazil.
There is even a musical festival named "Sonisphere Festival" so it's about sound. Sonic - sound, sphere
you're right, but I found out there is a word Sonic (means sound, acoustic) in English, it says about it in the article about "Sonisphere Festival" . So it doesn't have to be Latin.

Very nice,..
Great \m/
this is a awesome song one of my favourites \m/
Not much of a Kamelot fan, but damn I like this song. Then again I think it's the more aggressive vocals I am being drawn to, like Shagrath's part in March of Mephisto and Alissa's part in Liar Liar.
There's a live video of Alissa singing March of Mephisto with Tommy, I recommend giving it a look. Not only did they sound great, but the actual audio was pretty damn good as well!
TheWarriorXander weak ass Edgelord
Go listen to more a7x you edgy dickbutt
This is so fucking perfect! Roy I miss you so much, Why did you leave? :(
+dash8425 Oh right. First I heard of it. I duno what to believe either then...
Just think in eternity someday all of us Christians and people who go to heaven would get to hear him sing his voice will be even more beautiful than it is now could you imagine the power that his singing would hold he might as well take the spot where Lucifer was supposed to be the lieutenant of all of the Angels the highest of angels
Seriously people this is proof that there is a God someone who wants to put such great talent into one person
He's back!!! We'll not on Kamelot but he will sing again with conception
@Ryan Nelson no it dosent prove there's a god. It proved humans can train the vocal cords to hit certain notes that are pleasurable to the ear. We need a "made by yahweh, jehova, god, stamp and it seems to be missing....
2:35 THAT FACE
if they made that face at least once looking back at the Vanderbilt albums I wouldn't be surprised
Scary and beautiful darkness!!!
now that I know this band. and I heard this song.. I realize that I have never truely heard great music before
+Jeff Kemper I already came to the conclusion that there is no better band ✌
+Daimy Schrijver Welcome to the family! \m/
+Daimy Schrijver this band began such a searching for so many other bands, hell just listen to every album and then look up all the guest vocalists and youve got like 15 more awesome bands
+brian mcdowell wow. thanks, I will
+Blacktalon Gaming so true!
Awesome editing in this video..
Horrible, so satanic stuff.
Roy Khan, the singer, is a Christian. This isn't satanic, just dark.
yep you're right. Its just an amazing song with deep/dark lyrics.
roy looks like shagrath's son in this video
Belibers disliked this video
+John Crossett Don't you ever say that forbidden name here and on any other's rock bands videos. That is a blasphemy and so it shall be eradicated, killed and let to be rotted!!!
+Uchiha Madara We must forgive him this once. He did sully the name of "that person" and that will bring this band up more with more people off.
This would fit in the "Mutant Chronicles" So well.
My interpretation of this song is that The Great Pandemonium is about the beginning of the end, biblically the Tribulation of Sorrows I believe. The man or woman who this song is about questions why god doesn't answer their prayers, as they see that all around them The Great Pandemonium getting assembled and prepared (Martial Law, Gay Marriage). The Great Pandemonium itself is most likely the rapture. Or I could be overthinking things.
had thought about it that way
+Ryan Nelson It could also be about Ragnarok or it could be about that moment where you are eating pringles while watching a t.v show or movie and get to the bottom before it ends.
@Notusing Myrealname yes!
That solo is... just wow I have no words
+Pancho Javier perfect :)
+Pancho Javier- ALL HAIL KING THOMAS! I"ve been a guitarist for 25 years. His guitar playing is second to none.
One of the most underrated players.
Jeff Kemper dimebag daryl
This song is badass
is that the dude from soilwork
@Scienceand Reason Yes it is, Bjorn "Speed" Strid
Just the fact that Bjorn is on this track makes me want to buy the album. Kamelot and Soilwork rule.
Durance of Hate level 3
Just one more...
One of Thomas's best solos!
This song is supposed to be about a war between heaven and hell
Loving how dark this video is. I don't know why but but Kamelot seems to do the whole dark look better than most bands I have seen.
@Daniel Daly Yeah, I like power metal but not the cheesy stuff. Kamelot does power metal right. I've heard them described as "the dark side of power metal", which really does fit their sound.
+Daniel Daly
Well for one, they look like actually took a shower that day.
+Jacob I agree.
One of my favorite bands, and the frontman of another one of my favorite bands. I can't argue that!
Is it okay to say I love Roy? Gay or not if someone came up to me singing like this I would either turn gay or marry the person right away
Your comment is hysterical!
So you just a closeted gay nigga lookin for an excuse to come out
Lol is there's any profit in being woman, it's that I can freely speak about my love to Roy😆
Interpretations of this video, please?
@Fabio Carrera stuff you know
@Fabio Carrera well, plot - wise it clearly speaks of the building and ascension of the great pandemonium (a term based on the word pandemonium that mean utter chaos and riot) -
a device that will help hell defeat heaven, when you start looking at the entire song as a metaphore
its goes way deeper into personal interpretations
so as burger king says:
have it your way
my thought about this album is that it shows the depression and aniexty that roy was suffering i dont to me you can feel this is not like regular kamelot its darker and more
@Tgkjj I agree. You can really feel his struggle with various things, even down to his possible questioning the existence or presence of God. I'm really happy that he overcame all of that, though it's unfortunate he couldn't stay in the band. Supposedly Roy told someone he met that he hasn't completely ruled out the possibility of a solo album, but he doesn't have any solid plans as of now.
@Jacob CONCEPTION IS BACK!!!
@MuffinJin / Isak Aidee I know, it's so awesome to hear Roy back in music! I'm grateful he didn't stay away forever!
strid man, such a beast, he should dub over every song ever worth mentioning
ah the great roy! no one will ever sing better
@camaroz28177 Ronnie James Dio says hi XD he is a great singer though, love his voice
Be in peace Roy, you made life pleasent
i kame a lot too
Genius!
I miss him so much
B-Side project I miss Roy also! Everytime i hear the name Kamelot i miss Roy
He sings for Conception now. I prefer Kamelot's style over Conception, but, I would still check them out.
@SuperMgp11 I agree, and I'll go one further and say I miss the old Conception, or what I've managed to hear of the old material. This particular old live gig still does it for me:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=faFdinnCsEQ
Roy, Warrel Dane [ ex nevermore,] and Russel Allen [ Symphony X ] are my favorite singers.
NOOOOOOO😡💔
Bjorn fucking Strid, once again making everything he touches that much more epic.
Love the song
Roy, Roy.....και πάλι Roy!!!
Kamelot this dark is amazing. They can truly do whatever they want. Thomas is a hero of mine, for his excellent playing and songwriting and his integrity.
roy khan :'(
fucking yeah...great song!!!!
Best band ever !!
Best band ever !!
bring back roy khan pliz
He had his time and departed to do other things.. Adapt to change or frig off
@Jealous Gods whatt he's back with Conception, check their new music, just search "Conception - Feather Moves" on youtube
From hell to Heaven, great choise Roy! God Bless you!
although the song is fantastic, i still say: they shouldn't have made this album.. if they hadn't had this album, i'm pretty sure ROY KHAN would still be among us.. i miss you ROY KHAN, please don't go down on a path i can't follow...
he left cause they toured non stop tf are you talking about. recording something isnt as demanding :D
I miss Khan :(
Roy Khan love you 💀💀💀💀💀👿👿👿
