Kamelot - If Tomorrow Came Lyrics

I'm not sure
If she could ease your pain
You've been gone for awhile
Crushed you heart and soul
And teased your bane
Hush your mouth
Here she comes
Watch out

She can see you
Like the hounds of Hell
Smell your fear when you flee
Here she comes
Velvet ocean paradise
The power sorceress
At your fingertips
God made flesh
Perfect Alibi

You saw her walking
Over poison ivy leaves
Nobody knows her name
But something must have
Opened your eyes it seems
Cause nothing is quite the same

I'm not sure about a thing
You know
Days are long in the haze
Here she comes
Velvet ocean paradise
the power sorceress
Get a glimpse of God
Here she comes
With her good advice

You wanted every single moment
You've resigned
Knowing there's none to blame
You might as well
I swear on my life you tried
As if tomorrow came

Searching in the deepest forest
Merging with belief you saw her
All you've seen and all you've known
Tells you that she kept you warm

Kamelot If Tomorrow Came Comments

I can't get any hate on Poetry. It's dark experimental album! I find it more interesting than Ghost Opera, I even consider GO as Kamelot weakest (with Khan, since The Fourth Legacy) although I still love it. I love all albums with Khan, some a little more and some a little less but still. Because they all are good in their own way. Poetry isn't about happy fast songs like Nights of Arabia, Shadow of Uther, Across the Highlands (some of my favs) neither about solid concept like Epica-TBH..
But only Poetry gives to me that dark, perhaps even depressive feeling. And then ending song comes with some positive.. Well, you know, it's really the poetry.
I proud that Kamelot released such a not safe album. However, it seems there won't be another.

    Oh, oh here she comes!

  3. G.... N....

    This Is INTENSE

He's singing about a witch. Think about it, "she can see you like the hounds of hell, she smells your fear when you're fleeing" and "you saw her walking over poison ivy leaves, nobody knows her name", it gives you a feeling of suspense and eeryness. And, "the power sorceress at your fingertips". Sorcery and witchcraft is the practice of sumoning demons and them giving you the strength to do things that defy physics or nature, or, a candy-coated term, "magic". Also, "searching through the deepest forests", like they went on witch hunts in medeivel times. He's singing about a witch.

    [Searching in the deepest forest
merging with belief you saw her.
All you've seen and all you've known
tells you that she kept you warm.]

  6. C.... b....

    aaaaaahhh I love this album

  7. Z.... Z....

the capital of metal for the world is, of course, Europe. but the kings of metal come to us from Tampa, Florida.

    Z.... Z....

Zack Zaike Death, Kamelot, and much more this is true 🤘

    Z.... Z....

    Don't forget Savatage!

@Pucyotto While I agree that it gets more hate than it deserves, it doesn't really hold up to Khans better work, they seem to have gone too far trying to make it a darker theme. Hunters Season and The Great Pandemonium are pretty good tracks though. This one I find OK

    a.... a....

Tim Perry heyyy I really really love this song. probably in the top 3 of kamelots work in my opinion

  9. R.... ....

Poetry is soo underrated. All hail the mighty evil Roy Khan \m/

  10. s.... m....

    stratovarius - speed of light

  11. C.... ....

The Black Halo all the way. However Poetry is good too, nothing against it. I just think The Black Halo is better

  12. c.... b....

roy change his fans for good thats is not fair!!!! good you took the best singer, i hate you for this!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  13. Z.... Z....

Sht! That powerful riff in the beginning :D

  14. T.... ....

I had a dream about singing this song with my big brother... It was really random.
Also, out of every genre I enjoy, I think the metal ones have the coolest album covers.

  15. o.... t....

    roy khan i miss you

  16. R.... ....

I wish this song had a music video...I can already see one in my head. =)

  17. R.... ....

@hunterdynamo Uhm... I think it is about a power sorceress... who can see you like the hounds of hell and smell your fear when you flee. =)

  18. A.... R....

    @imperialwizard123 Make that 4 bullets :/

  19. h.... ....

What is this song about? It doesn't make any sense for me x_x

  20. J.... H....

    Holy cool keyboard riff

  21. P.... o....

Sounds like "Invictus" of Virgin Steele

  22. L.... ....

    Float really high these sounds.

  23. L.... ....

To comply with his job serving us a great dose of progression.

  24. C.... ....

IMHO Kamelot and Blind Guardian are the only power metal bands that still mantains a consistent high level of quality with their new albums.

  25. i.... ....

OK... I need a gun and 3 bullets...

  26. i.... ....

    too good to be mainstream.

  27. C.... ....

This is the only Kamelot song that I've found so far, that I cannot decipher its subject or meaning.

  28. R.... B....

This is about a Succubus, right? It's more electronic than most of their other stuff. Suits them well and is a welcome variety to me. The chorus is Kamelotlike godlike :D

  29. G.... ....

@Synnerbytcher Hah! nice catch, I definitely see what your talking about.

  30. t.... ....

He kind of sounds like Dio. :D

  31. s.... ....

if there is one thing I can say about kamelot, it's that they are consistently good and do not choose to let the occasional excess of progressive metal weigh them down.

  32. d.... ....

    stunning song.

  33. g.... ....

    @brnleague99 wow that is a hard pick..........I'm neutral.....lolXD

  34. p.... ....

Kamelot is one of the best things to come out of Florida

  35. M.... A....

THAT'S IT!!!! Heard this song on the radio & it sounded very familiar. Took me 2 days to figure out that 1:09 sounds just like the chorus in Tears for Fears - Head Over Heels!!!

  36. g.... ....

this band's growing and getting better and better. BearGIRL26, I totally agree with you!

  37. J.... ....

My budy showed me these guys like 3 months ago and they're already pretty much my favorite band. This song is definitely my favorite off PftP

  38. b.... ....

What do you guys think? Black Halo vs. Poetry For The Poisoned?

  39. w.... ....

3 people got seizures from the awesomeness of the riffs and accidentally hit the dislike button

  40. C.... M....

Roy Khan's voice is just amazing. I seriously love every single song he sings or appears in and this song definitely showcases his incredible vocal talent. <3 Though I'm a gay girl, I will probably go straight just for Khan. xD

  41. C.... ....

@MindOfPagan: There is no "proving" on youtube arguments. We just mentally masturbate all over the page. Neither of us have stated fact with any sort of proof. Opinions, opinions, opinions.

As for you not replying, I'm okay with this.

  42. C.... ....

@MindOfPagan: ...The intro riff isn't an arpeggio at all, but okay. I would say that you've described Dream Theater's entire career, and yet they keep their "Prog Metal" label.
    "reminiscent of... power metal"
    Kamelot = Power Metal.
    Hmmm.

Keep your arrogant musical elitism, though. It's funny.

  43. C.... ....

@MindOfPagan: I have no such fanboy bias. This album comparatively sucked. No, every OTHER album was simplistic writing, but it was solid and fit the band's style. In this album, they reached elsewhere, and failed. Say what you want, that's a prog riff behind most of this song, with the exception of the chorus.

  44. C.... ....

@MindOfPagan: Yes, progressive musical influence is very juvenile. Only a well-trained professional could play such idiocy.

    Are you retarded?

  45. W.... S....

Wow, I feel like I'm the only one that's highly dissapointed with the incomplexity of this song.

  46. l.... ....

    Great song!!! I love it!!!
But, is it about death?? because that was I understood of it??
I apologise if I'm wrong but seriously that's what I understood!! Please just tell me what do you think about this song

  47. p.... ....

best song on the album love it

  48. A.... ....

i've been listening to kamelot since their birth but this is definitely my best fucking favourite song, with all respect to cults like Memento Mori or Forever and to other master pieces from KAM, this took my heart completely, hope they will play it on the tour , CANT WAIT!!!

  49. a.... ....

@Xandra73 I also love his lower range, though I do miss his high range sometimes. But yes, his lower voice is damn sexy. xD

  50. X.... ....

@yellowyoshi2006 I don't think he does. Just listen to the beginning of The Great Pandemonium. That's damn high, don't you think? I just think he sings lower now because it fits the new style of Kamelot and also it's easier to sing live. I bet it's hard to hit the high notes easily when you have to sing day after day while being on tour. And I just love his lower range, so I don't mind anyway.

And 'If Tomorrow Came' is so damn awesome, one of the best songs on the new album! =)

  51. S.... S....

man Roy's voice is so fucking amazing!

  52. a.... ....

@yellowyoshi2006 I think he just needs a rest. His voice is still spectacular but his range is getting smaller... of course, he started out with a really huge range so now he's where most singers are as far as that's concerned. I think you can still hear his voice strongly past the vocal effects, and I remember reading somewhere that he said he does his own backing vocals a lot of the time. So yeah... still awesome, but I'm glad he's taking a break. ^^

  53. j.... ....

You saw her walking over poison iiiiiivy leeeeeeeaves!!

  54. D.... D....

One of the best from Kamelot in my opinion @_@ !

  55. T.... W....

    @JrAntonio LOVE IT ! xD

  56. T.... W....

@BlackJellyTot yes the song is fucking great :)

  57. B.... ....

Damn, I love this song, I listen to it constantly. Especially the "searching in the deepest forest, merging with belief you saw her, all you've seen and all you've known, tells you that she kept you warm" segment of lyrics. It gives me goosebumps everytime I hear it =] Definately my new favourite song <3

  58. T.... W....

    @xXAntiblackmetalXx
    yeah \m/
