Kamelot - Eternity Lyrics

As I sit upon these rocks above
I feel the waves crash upon the shore
As the sea sprays on my glowing face
I wish I could embrace the sea
for evermore
As I lay my head to sleep at night
I dream the sea and me we flow as one
But I'm a prisoner of the sands and
no one understands these childish dreams

An old man approaches me
His feeble mind confusing to thee
He speaks in riddles and rhymes
Tales of an old witch that cast him
from the sea
But wait my eyes full of splendor
or could this be some crazy old tale
I look to his eyes for the answer

I will my soul to the sea
for Eternity
I will my soul to the sea
for Eternity

And so the journey begins
The pain and suffering
Are your dreams worth this torment?
You can deal Another hand
But the light in the distance
promises this the journeys end
Great gods of olympus
Great god Poseidon
Accept this mortal never let
Him return, For He's willed
His soul to the sea
For Eternity

I will my soul to the sea
for Eternity
I will my soul to the sea
for Eternity

    The best kamelot age

  3. J.... T....

If only this and Dominion had the vocals re-recorded by Khan back then. They had a two year gap between Fourth Legacy and Karma. Would've been awesome had they done it then. Ah well, I can pretend...

  4. A.... H....

    Midnight??? Is that you????

  5. R.... M....

    Iron Kamelot. This is classic

  6. G.... ....

Awesome, i discovered the band in Roy phase, but this is awesome.

  7. G.... R....

If you think this is good... You're lying to yourself... Mainly because of the damn voice cracking every other syllable.

  8. C.... G....

Fan from 1994, i bought the cd to test, and today fan from that day. In April a new album, yeahhhh

  9. D.... R....

    This hurt my ears.

    D.... R....

I dig the instrumental, but Mark Vanderbilt's vocals are terrible. I've revisited this album so many times, and I can't help but break into a fit of laughter every time he starts singing.

  10. R.... N....

    2:43 SUM CRAZY HOTEL....

  11. T.... ....

Am I the only one who started by listening to this album? This album will always be a favorite of mine.

  12. J.... S....

I love me some Kamelot, but these trumpets sound waaay to midi for me to take them seriously.

  13. k.... m....

the singer is a mix of michael kiske from old helloween and Bruce Dickinson from iron maiden

  14. L.... S....

Mark is the worst singer I've heard in my entire life (and all the past lifes too)

    L.... S....

You haven’t heard many singers then.

    L.... S....

No he isn’t, quit being a hyperbolic bitch.

  15. D.... A....

    THE BEST ALBUM OF KAMELOT.

  17. H.... W....

Mark's voice has much in common with Bruce Dickinson's. He's good. Yet Kamelot needed Khan to become the awesome and unique band they're now.

    H.... W....

When you wrote this comment Khan was already gone since April 2011 :)

It's not that it's bad, per se. Maybe I've been spoiled by getting into them during the "all hail Khan" period of the mid to late 00s, but  even next to Tommy...I can't get into this album or Dominion. And it's not through a lack of trying. Heaven knows I've tried.

Mark has his good points. His voice is suited to power metal. At least when it's not falling flat. I just don't think, even considering that this is the mid 90s, that his voice is suited to them. He actually sounds like he'd be a better fit to early Dickson era Maiden.

+Emma Mccluskey I hear what you're saying—there's no beating "The Fourth Legacy" through "The Black Halo" (not just by Khan's virtue, either; the music is brilliant all the way through). But I like to think of this Kamelot as an almost completely different band, though. They _were_ pretty much taking Queensryche (and maybe Maiden) cues at this point.

"Dominion", though, fuck that. Boring from start to finish.

Voice is fine but he's flat on almost every note.

  20. K.... C....

Wow!!  He sounds just like Geoff Tate!!

    K.... C....

    @***** Ok cool!  Thanks!

    K.... C....

    @*****
In fact this singer is much more close to Midnight ( R.I.P ) than Geoff.Your right

    K.... C....

@Noteinvito well, Midnight and Mark had the same vocal teacher. Thought back then 'cool CC replacement, coming Florida, singer sings like Midnight, what u want more?'. Thought wrong, after the 3rd record I had to admit so.

  21. s.... ....

A lot of power metal vocalists have hiccups in their voice, it's an inevitability of singing like that.

  22. r.... ....

    @marthakirstine
thuoght the same their music gets awesome at the start of siege perilous =P

  23. M.... H....

I think that this "new" Kamelot, is better then the old one, and of couse, Khan is fantastic, bur you can´t compare this two, couse they have so different voice, Khan hase a more clair voice, and Vanderbilt is more rock, n roll.

  24. R.... B....

The instrumental is great and he isn't a bad singer, but why does he squeak all the time?
