k-os - Equalizer Lyrics

"Hit it"

[Verse 1:]
This is a broadcast from the universe
Supersonic bond, metaphor, megahertz
I'm on a mission with the mic in the holster
Spread the love from coast to coast hear the dope for editing
My only enemy's inside of me
Trying a lot of me but my degree's in the anatomy
My thoughts, they rotate, like planets round the sun
I observe them one by one, like a scientist
Once again kids be breaking the rules
Taking the school, the MCs playing the fool
What do you do, when all eyes are looking at you
For the answers to impossible questions that ain't true
That when I fall back
Recognize magnetic attraction pulling light down to this physical fraction
Makes me human, that why I humanize
I came to make the breaker, make it equalize

[Chorus:]
There's no need to run
Staring at the sun
There's one place left to go
And everybody knows
Things are going to change
There's only better days coming

[Verse 2:]
I'm back from sabbatical this mathematical magical stealth with the microphone
Seeing knowledge as self
Its here to elevate, regulate, or discombobulate
The weight of illegitimate fate now
Whatever the time, remember the mind's not the body
It's probably my last time but maybe not 'cause I've
Got a new style, it's what's up
Pain of the people means pop don't stop
Ladies and gents this is school house rock
Changing the plot, hip-hop with me or not
Ripping apart, its stereotypical art
Holding me back 'cause rap's not a grade of the dark
Jimi Hendrix was a hero to most
That's why we crown and toast the brand new host
All the unknowns, they were heroes to most
That's why we crown and toast the brand new host, equalize

[Chorus]

Gimmie a beat
Gimmie a beat

[Chorus]

I'm walking down this open road
I've got to shake this heave load
I know there's things in life I'll never see 'cause heaven only knows
Take this heavy load
Down this open road

    2019...
Why didn't hip hop go in this direction???
Why didn't rap go in this direction?
This is so good. SO GOOD.

It transcends all genres and thoughts of cultural appropriation.
This song....makes me believe that things are going to get better in the future.
All I gotta do is close my eyes, listen to the music, and all of a sudden, the problems of the world are no longer my concern.

I like the part "there's nowhere to run [...]" so much, I really hope there will be an accoustic version based just on this

"Whatever the time, remember the mind's not the body." = So brilliant!

  4. M.... R....

    So good!!

  5. k.... ....

I love K-OS because he puts his heart into his music and he has made it impossible to box him up or label him...He just makes good music...There isn't even a genre that accurately describes his music...It's Hip Hop wit a twist of rock, r&b, blues, reggae, gospel etc...We need his originally in music and it's a shame that he isn't more recognized...He is extremely talented...

  6. a.... ....

K-OS is an artist that reminds me that there is hope for Hip -hop in other better places than the radio. The same trend is also happening with the indie -rock world, and people are recognizing talent even where there is not popularity.

track 4: Definite success and yess

  7. S.... ....

he puts his own spin to his music while rappers nowadays have no originality they just use the same music over and over again.

  8. C.... ....

You knw what, K-Os is a great musician. How can you look down upon a man who is so true to the music he creates. For what reason do you hate him just fro the reason of hating him? how can you know this mans life? he looks everybody in the eye and he does what he loves, Christ. Get your info straight you poor fool

  9. b.... ....

you must really hate k-os to blatantly belittle his credibility as an artist like that. everyone has their inspirations. if you can't appreciate his music then keep it moving.

  10. b.... ....

    one of my favorite artists.

i dont know how he is going to top Atlantis: Hymns for Disco. Song for song, K-os is just amazing. Im really happy that he is staying to himself and is not selling out. If he does become big (he is becoming more known in the U.S. because of the Warped Tour) it is because he did not sell out, but people finally started to realize what real music is.

  12. T.... T....
