fool1shmortal he is actually a funny guy and only took the audition as funny, but got it for being himself. That’s what makes “lil sweet” so hilarious. It’s all poking fun at that style and he nails it!

this was actually him performing as a guest on ai season 2. I think had justin performed this in season 1 the outcome may have been different and this is comming from an avid kelly clarkson fan. He was amazing but I still favor clay Aikens unchained melody more.

@timeinabottle23 This is not from season one. It's a special appearance fromJustin on a Season 2 result show, ironically the very night after Clay's version.
Had J done this in season one it would have helped his chances. Kelly screamed too much for me when she didn't need to. She never understood a self contained performance and I guess neiter did the voters.
I thought J was the most consistent in season one for the Whole Idol package as far as voice, look and stage presence.

This is without a doubt, the best performance not only in american idol history, but for this song as well. He perfected the song in every way. Those who do not enjoy this performance really don't know great music when they hear it and need to get a life.

A Falsetto is when a singer goes beyond his/ her normal range. If you listen to James Blunt he does a lot of it.

Damn this guy can sing. It's too bad there are so many d-bags on American Idol who shouldn't get as far as they do. Perhaps if we just let Simon decide everything we would actually have talented people like this guy on the show.

Another mistake by American voters. This young man should have won just like Clay Aiken should have won. This is a wonderful rendition. Fabulously talented guy with personality and great stage presence. Another injustice by American voters. Kelly was good, but has the personality of a door jam. No stage presence at all.

I still think this guy should have won. Shame hes sort of gone nowhere now.
