Jurado, Damien - With Lightning In Your Hands Lyrics

Throw down your soul
Keep it in the soil
Will you return with a storm

Pockets full of silver
Treasures made of gold
Will you return with a mighty storm

Hiding in the shadow
Caught in your trees
Will you return with a mighty storm

    so beautiful.
i love Damien Jurado. Saw him live at Cat's Cradle in Carrboro, NC (UNC-Chapel Hill) about four years ago with my daughter who was a student.  She had given me the album Caught in the Trees. Damien sat at the entrance of the club unidentified but I knew him immediately. We seriously discussed his music~ particularly the song 'Sheets' and I remember telling him how I interpreted the lyrics... and at that point if he knew how important his music was to me... as I was a widow.  Damien remained very reserved which conveyed a lot.  He told me that all his music was written from dreams. :)
I also have very vivid dreams and a sort of melancholy side which has made losing my husband so very difficult...
Damien went on to play every song we discussed up on stage.
It was a gift I am sure
as I am also just as sure he has experienced a loss as well.
Thank you for your music, Damien ~ for sharing the raw essence of sadness yet not withholding the solace you can give the listener.
I am much better now, but every now and then I must tune the clamor out and place my ear upon your broad expressive soul.

In reply to MW C ~
Yes, I have some of their music.
    However, 'Mykonos' remains my favorite...
I have paired them with Snow Patrol's
'The Golden Floor', 'Set Down Your Glass' and
'The Lightning Strike' from their album:
A Hundred Million Suns (which contains several worthy tracks so I just bought the album)
I have so much music I find it better listening to make playlists...
