Smith Rock State Park. Terrebonne, Or. The birthplace of American sport climbing

+Harrison Harb I think a lot of people would consider the birth place of sport climbing to be the Yosemite Half Dome. First ascent: 1870's, first technical climb: Royal Robbins - 1950's. Smith Rock didn't become a climbing destination until most of us were getting our start in the 80's.

+thebizzness I'd say Yosemite as the birthplace of modern climbing, along with free climbing, but Smith definitely takes it for sport climbing. The rappel bolting technique was pioneered there, along with the first 5.14 in North America. Read Alan Watts' history of the park in the Falcon Guide. Super interesting. The Yosemite crew wanted him crucified for popularizing bolting/climbing techniques which are now considered common place.

damien - you have reached the most incredible heights of music.  You've created a sound i have never heard before.  Listening to this song for the first time in the car one rainy night i thought i might explode with joy.  Thank you for staying true to yourself.  You've given me a light to find my way in the dark. 

Great 60's feel.like how the drum beat drops in with the acid sound 1/4 thru, changes it for the good.

Nice song. Retro, psychedelic sounds somewhat reminiscent of the Zombies.

Who produced the album? Sounds tight and spacey at the same time.

The vocals are as atmospheric as anything I've ever heard (including the ultra tasteful back-up tracks he layers on here), including such lyrics as "Climbing into the eye, where the numbers begin..."), and then he ties that lyric back into the original tale in the last verse with another epic,optic, vision-based line referenced by singing "Spots on the iris's bleed where the numbers are born..." Even if the psychedelia is too much for you, the lyrics at a minimum catch your ear & make u think.
