Fornicalia thats probably not the case, Julian and Josh Homme are friends, so i doubt Julian wouldn't have taken a listen tbe new Queens' album that came out last year. both songs have a surfy vibe, but thats where the similarities end. Haunted House is more rock n roll and Coul as a Ghoul is more spooky. the riffs sound similar because of the rhythm, but other than that, they're completely different songs
