Jukebox The Ghost - The Great Unknown Lyrics

Walking through the heavy light
The streets are empty
And you don't feel right
You didn't want to let yourself down
So don't be scared to get out
There's 1,000 voices saying the time is now

So let go
You're on your own
There's somethin' waitin' for ya
There's somethin' waitin' for ya

So let go
Of the world you know
There's something' waitin' for ya
In the great unknown
The great unknown

Keep your head up
Don't take your eyes off the road
No you're never gonna change by doin' what you're told
You don't wanna let yourself down
So don't be scared to stand out
There's 1,000 voices saying the time is now

So let go
You're on your own
There's somethin' waitin' for ya
There's somethin' wiatin' for ya

So let go
Of the world you know
There's nothin' watin' for ya
In the great unknown
The great unknown

The great unknown
In the great unknown
The great unknown
The great unknown

The time is now
So let go
You're on your own
There's somethin' waitin' for ya
There's somethin' waitin' for ya

So let go
Of the world you know
There's somethin' waitin' for ya
In the great unknown

So let go
You're on your own
There's somethin' waitin' for ya
There's somethin' waitin' for ya

So let go
Of the world you know
There's somethin' waitin' for ya
In the great unknown

I first found Jukebox The Ghost when I was developing a gigantic crush on my now ex-boyfriend. I remember listening to your guy's songs and thinking of him and the future that we could have. I was utterly hopeless and thought that nothing would become of this severe infatuation because I'm extrememly awkward and suck at talking to people. I thought that it would just be another crush and that would be all. One of his friends (that I was also friends with) found out that we liked each other and began to set us up. And from that became one of my first ACTUAL relationships and with that my first heartbreak. I learned to love myself and that I dont have to do anything that I dont want to in a relationship. I learned that some people put up a facade and once you get past that its hell. While I was in this relationship I had stopped listening to you guys. Now I'm beginning to get back into your music and whenever I listen to any of your songs I get this weird feeling that I can't really describe. I feel kinda happy but I also want to cry. When I listen to you guys I feel like I'm safe, like I'm being held and comforted. I cannot thank you enough, Julebox The Ghost, for getting me through the rough times and making me feel like I have someone there for me when I have no one. Thank you.

The way I found this was in a dream and the person I was following I guess had like a dead zone type of thing that activated at random and then one lasted a little longer than the others and there was another person experiencing it with him and he says “Well then, let’s see what is in the great unknown.” And for those who are like “oh really is that so?” I never said you had to believe me, but on my word that is basically how it happened with a few omitted details of a personal nature.

This is the only thing getting me through life right now. Every time the long pause happens i prepare myself to hear that the time is now. I get shivers every time i listen to this song.

I like this song, but why gather a rock band together for a bunch of synth and piano? In fact, this entire album sound more like it should be a Ben Thornewill solo venture than a full JtG album.

This song, once again, makes me think there needs to be a Jukebox the Ghost-scored Broadway musical. You guys have such a big, inspiring sound, it's fantastic.

This is a great song for 1) Exploring space 2) Graduating [College; High School; Preschool].

    Jose Dominguez

    Totally agree!

    Janet Lee

I concur.  If Paramount/Viacom gives Netflix the green light for a new Star Trek, this would be the perfect theme song.
