Judy Collins - Time Passes Slowly Lyrics

Time passes slowly up here in the mountains
We sit beside bridges and walk beside fountains
And catch the wild fishes that swim in the streams
Time passes slow when you're lost in a dream

Once I had a sweetheart, he was fine and good lookin'
We sat in the kitchen while my mama was cookin'
And stared out the window to the stars high above
Time passes slow when you're searchin' for love

Ain't no reason to go in a wagon to town
Ain't no reason to go to the fair
Ain't no reason to go up, ain't no reason to go down
Ain't no reason to go anywhere

Time passes slowly up here in the daylight
We stare straight ahead and try so hard to stay right
Like a cloud that passes and covers the day
Time passes slow and then fades away

My daddybear say this is one of those albums that immediately transports him back to his hippie days

It's astonishing to believe that this album is almost 50 years old. I bought it in 1970 and have loved it ever since - every song still stands up and proud today.

  4. G.... H....

Love the guitar work in this song.

  5. R.... D....

Beautiful song and great photos... thank you!

This is beautiful both musically and visually.  These are some of the most brilliant photographs of young Judy ever.  Judy's voice is ethereal and crystalline.  She is magnificent and and the goddess of song!

+Nur Alima they're lovely pics, but i think she's aged so wonderfully looking even lovelier than before... and still sounding so wonderfully, achingly good...

This is the most beautiful record.  I have the original LP and have loved it that long.  Spread the word.
