To be honest I thought these guys are musically dead kinda Saxon, Metallica or Iron Maiden for that matter, but definitely are NOT. This is the best album of the last 10-15 yrs for sure!

Judas Priest still goes off where bands such as Metallica have ran out of puff,I have 6 of their original albums on CD but I ordered the 7th CD,this one tonight ,Firepower.

I still do listen to Alice Cooper,Quiet Riot,Motley Crue but I mainly listen to their albums which are from the 1980's,I would like to buy at least a couple of Cindarellas albums which are from that era as well !

This last album from JP is a unbelievable surprise.
It is so unexpected to see a such release nowadays from an ancient and classical heavy metal band. The overall level is very high.
The album is very good i am listening to it near everyday since it came out.
It reminds me the best days of the band.

This is the difference from all the other Genre's. Where some may have 1 or 2 great songs and a lot of them not so much. Judas Priest is what metal is about making every song on an album their best work until the next album. There is no bad song on this album. I love walking to this album.

As a huge Priest fan since the early 1980s, I've seen them run the gamut of looks and sounds, and lived through some pretty bad efforts on their part. Turbo and Ram it Down were low points, as was Nostradamus. Redeemer was better, but had some pretty cheesy tracks. I'm really happy to see that they nailed this (potentially) last album from start to finish. It deserves its top place on the Hard Rock Charts and I think they really went all in on this effort. I love the stylistic references back to the older albums, especially with the harmonies in the bridge, and of course, I love to hear Halford playing around with lyrics like he did in the past ("paratamize," "chopping at the top /never give in never stop," etc.). I also like the fact that Glenn pulled out the slide for his solo (maybe because he's struggling a bit these days). I love Judas Priest most, when they innovate and change up their sound. For so many years in between, I've almost felt a bit sad for them, like they should hang it up. This is an amazing metal song/album coming from my favorite metal musicians and shows they still got it. Cheers!

Hell, even their "worst" album (AKA Nostradamus) is damn underrated in my book. Have you heard "Prophecy" live?! That shit's insane.

Of the four songs I've heard from this album so far, this one sounds the most like the Priest I grew up with and loved. But, their infamous building and building guitar solos that seemed to battle each other relentlessly and harmoniously are non-existent. Just a bunch of straight-forward and short material that never really goes anywhere. When you remember all the amazing guitar solos (sometimes 2-3 in one song) on albums such as Painkiller, Defenders, Ram It Down, etc., I can't help but wonder why they abandoned that format. They went kind of one-dimensional and repetitive, the way Iron Maiden did when Bruce returned. Still sounds nice, and Rob's voice is much better here than on the last couple of albums, but I still miss the epic guitar solos that make me go crazy with excitement and jam out on an air guitar every time I hear them. Hopefully, maybe one or two of the remaining songs will have some of that...

Solos are absolutely amazing and the whole song as well. I am really glad you enjoy listening and are not so critical and gloomy :-)
