Joy Division - Day Of The Lords Lyrics

This is the room, the start of it all,
No portrait so fine, only sheets on the wall,
I've seen the nights, filled with bloodsport and pain,
And the bodies obtained, the bodies obtained.

Where will it end? Where will it end?
Where will it end? Where will it end?

These are your friends from childhood, through youth,
Who goaded you on, demanded more proof,
Withdrawal pain is hard, it can do you right in,
So distorted and thin, distorted and thin.

Where will it end? Where will it end?
Where will it end? Where will it end?

This is the car at the edge of the road,
There's nothing disturbed, all the windows are closed,
I guess you were right, when we talked in the heat,
There's no room for the weak, no room for the weak.

Where will it end? Where will it end?
Where will it end? Where will it end?

This is the room, the start of it all,
Through childhood, through youth, I remember it all,
Oh, I've seen the nights filled with bloodsport and pain,
And the bodies obtained, the bodies obtained, the bodies obtained.

Where will it end? Where will it end?
Where will it end? Where will it end?

If you read hg wells the time machine, he says there was a time when there was a great battle between the haves and have nots, at some point it must have been settled, and after that, a great silence, so now there are two species, one above and one below, the one above pays the one below, for clothes, sundries, the right to live, in blood

I can't believe that they are not popular in the punk industry to this day!, they kick major ass, simply brilliant, I have to say that this is my 2nd favorite, my most favorite song is "She's lost control"

    D.... C....

    1. Punk is not a industry, as previously stated. Nor should it be. Punk is in the people that defy the typical mainstream agenda.

    2. Joy Division was around the same time as Punk, but they play a different sub-genre. Joy Division is more akin to the 80s trad goth stuff, like The Smiths, or The Cure than Black Flag or Dead Kennedys.

That said, this is one of my faves of this band, and Joy Division is pretty rad. Im glad that they are kind of underrated, (but they're also pretty well known) because I don't want to hear powerful stuff like this everywhere I go, yknow?

    D.... C....

Joy Division were considered one of the first post-punk bands. They had punk roots, but they wanted to go into directions other than just the standard fast punk songs.

    D.... C....
