Definitely in my top 25 albums of all time, and Journeys best album.

The engineered sound quality and mix levels on this song are perfection. The entire album should have won awards for musical production alone. The album was fantastic.

Why do they go on alone?

Many people know Steve Perry was born in Hanford, California and lived a lot around the local area at one time. Some of my family relatives live up that way too and I was stationed at Naval Air Station Lemoore which is next town after Hanford. One day a million years ago I was 19 and riding my ninja out to the air base when along the two lane highway near Hanford, and I see a small radio station building and two huge antennae.....so the thought hits me DEJA VU? Ive seen this radio station before.... why am I drawn to it? So I pull my motorcycle over to the side of the road to look more and realized it was a lot like the RAISED ON RADIO CD cover!! I read somewhere years ago that Steve Perry was asked about the inspiration for that album cover and it was mentioned the cover was inspired by an old radio station out on a country road near Hanford. I wish I knew if it was or not. Maybe someday I will know.

This is when perry lost about 50 percent of his vocal power. He started layering vocals and singing slower songs. He lost his best voice from the escape tour. When they recorded Frontiers he had a raspy lower tone but still very good and untouchable.. BTW this is one of of my faves from.

Story of my life

Raised on radio is one of the all time great albums ever made.

The acapella harmony at the end of the song with its crisp perfectly balanced digital reverb always gives me chills as if was recorded in the Sistine chapel. Yess used similar digital reverb precision on the 90125 album. Bands and artists today don't do enough acapella.

My favorite album of journey.The rest are good too! Steve's street talk.Journey should be proud they did it all these years for the long haul!So many other great bands out there too!Could never list all of them!

I used to hear Journey everyday before I retired, but haven't really listened to radio at home. Something awakened in me and I went on the hunt for vintage Journey. So far I have found Greatest Hits on cassette 😊 for 25 cents and Raised on Radio on vinyl. What a great sound. I have two turntables. Cassettes were kind of a pain but I still play them. ROR was only $1.00!!! Journey was the best rock band ever. I'll continue my quest.

Randy Jackson's bass makes this their best album to me. I just like the funk, even on a ballad. For me, only Steve Perry. I appreciate his replacement's talent. But, only Steve.
