Journey - People Lyrics

Who are the ones that slip and slide through life,
Moving like the waves in a sink,
People, always need a minute or two to think.

Who says they're not going to Hell,
Climbing the stairway to you know where,
People, Oh! so happy until they scare.

Who always has got to talk about somebody else,
Born as a God, they think that's got to be
People, simply just another you and me.

Saw Gregg Rolie with Ringo Starr’s All Star Band Friday (Aug.30, 2019) and I sure wish he would have sung a Journey song from the first 3 albums. He only sang 3 Santana songs.

  8. D.... L....

I started with a birthay gift to my older brother and wound up loving this old album. Now im loving it more with the loss of family.

  9. N.... H....

Neil should have been considered a Rock God like Hendrix, Page or Clapton .. But they put Perry in there and changed the sound the music the direction forever...

    N.... H....

    Noel: I agree

  10. d.... ....

  11. e.... ....

This reminds me of Mahavishnu Orchestra's Lila's Dance. Sounds like Mahavishnu Orchestra's beatles cover XD

    e.... ....

I can't decide if this record is better than first record or if the first record is better than this record? doesn't matter either way

  13. s.... ....

Anyone notice how Gregg's vocals sound eerily John Lennon-ish, here?

    s.... ....

Just remember he was the lead singer in Santana, black magic women he did..these guys left Santana and forum journey..

  14. C.... ....

THANK YOU FOR UPLOADING ORIGINAL JOURNEY.

  15. J.... O....

I am from Journey country    this was Journey at their best     sorry Steve

  16. V.... R....

I met journey also. It was the first tour with Steve Perry. He didn’t say a word. I talked to Neal Schon. He was cool. I gave him m a Hendrix poster. I had a few cause I shopped at the balcony before the show. I was glad to hear the Jimi he did with Paul Rodgers. A really great show if you can find it.

  17. B.... W....

I met Journey when they first formed as a group before they cut there 1st album. Journey Next was there best as far as I'm concerned. I met Steve Perry while they were touring in '78 in Az, he told me they were going to be bigger than Zeppelin. Those were some pretty big boasts I was thinking, but for that year, '78, they were the top grossing band in the world. But I still like the old original Journey better.

    B.... W....

didn't they live in the sausalito area. i was staying in the bay area when they came out. original lineup the best

  18. n.... p....

journey when the band was innovative. rolie and schon fresh from the then cutting edge santana band. perfect band with solid grounding by ansley dunbar then came along a venomous ass hole named steve perry.

  19. M.... W....

    Love this album.

  20. W.... R....

  22. J.... M....

    Yes. Real

  23. F.... O....

Just in Time to See the Sun" (Rolie/Santana/Shrive) underestimated composer !

  24. v.... ....

Ansley was actually able to stretch out and be creative on this album - love it all !!

  25. D.... H....

    so Beatles

    D.... H....

just like Spaceman is so David Gilmour when Neil breaks into his solo and ending... everybody is affected by the Beatles and it looks like Schon admires the Floyd...

    D.... H....

At 4.35 you mean , quit rightly so , Beatles ending, estranged, surreal
"And those who were seen dancing were thought insane by those who could not hear the music."

  26. B.... K....

    Simply just another human being...

    B.... K....

"simply just another you and me"

  27. U.... S....

    The real Journey. So cool.

  28. c.... ....

Oh, so happy until they're scared.

  29. W.... ....

    Ladies and Gentlemen...Real Music...

  30. G.... J....

Journey was a very interesting band pre-Steve Perry

    G.... J....

Jeff Ghendar ,Journey 's early lineups back in the early &mid 70's 1976- 77 were like Reo Speedwagon &Deep Purple & Neale Schon is a great phenomenal guitarist.

    G.... J....

lxlandia, Journey's sound of music never changes.

    G.... J....

lxlandia , I love their album Next.

    G.... J....

There is a difference between growing and evolving, and de-evolving, selling out your immense god given talent, to become the NA NA, LA, LA band, using drum machines . To have that level of musicianship and allow yourself to become a parody of yourself, is actually just sad.

    G.... J....

Of A Lifetime" and everything on that first album was great. Sort of prog-ish without 21:00 minutes songs. More like "Hey Jude" length. This song, "People" is Harrison-like, love this early Journey stuff. Saw these guys backing Aerosmith back in 1976, they were firiggin' awesome, bought the album the very next day and still listen to it regularly today. Neil Shon was my guitar here for a long time after....I am still influenced by this early stuff...........................................
