Jones, George - Life Turned Her That Way Lyrics

If she seems cold and bitter, I beg of you
Just stop and consider all she's goin' through
Don't be quick to condemn her for things she might say
Just remember, life turned her that way.

She's been walked on and stepped on, so many times
And I hate to admit it but that last footprint's mine.
She was crying when I met her, she cries louder today
So don't blame her, life turned her that way.

She's been walked on and stepped on, so many times
And I hate to admit it but that last footprint's mine.
She was crying when I met her she cries harder today
So don't blame her, life turned her that way.

No, don't blame her, life turned her that way...

When all of us (man or woman) go through life, we will have some pain and feel stepped on, etc.  However, we must rise above all this and realize that God loves us so much more than any human can.  I hate to sound like a stuck record, but I really want people to know that no matter what you have been through, Jesus can make you happy again.  I was suicidal for many years, but not now.  I'm looking forward to the future, not looking back any more.  Still enjoy these old records though -- they just reinforce that man cannot ultimately hurt us.  Maybe for a time, he/she can, but our future is heaven and it does not get much better than that.

    P.... M....

With out Jesus we are nothing, but with him we are everything. Life is good, its just what we make it.

    P.... M....

@Dewayne B jesus  schmesus    we make our own way in life  and the santa claus in the sky has nothing to do with it  good or bad

    P.... M....

@boonestead sad you have no faith.. people (and i know many) say how can God do this...lets these evils happen...well dont blame God...blame the devil....God didn't break this world..satan did..all God can do is help us through...when we ask

    P.... M....

Love your response..I told the other man God can not fix what the devil did..but we can help him and he can help us...many times i didnt know what to do..beat for 10 years finally left...house fire...just a horrible time..kids went to their father.. (he never hit them...just me) but...my point i always had an answer God made sure no matter what i was taken care of...without his help..i would not have made it...i just keep saying...only a test right God...we got this..

The number of plays and the popularity of a song on the radio is determined by how much money a record company invests in the song and the artist. This version by George Jones did not receive the funding & support needed to be a hit. Does this mean Ricky Van Shelton's version is bad? No. Was Ricky Van Shelton talented? Yes! He kept the traditional country sound alive. Is George's version superior to RVS? Yes, only because it sounds more genuine and RVS songs now sound outdated due to production trends in the 1980s/1990s.

    H.... S....

George Jones never released this as a single. This was an 1967 album cut covering Mel Tillis' version which had been a hit just months earlier. George had four other single releases that year. Three of them made the top ten.

  25. M.... ....

Charley Pride's version is the best hands down!

  26. m.... m....

well him too but here on earth we have mr jones and no man can top him yet

  27. S.... S....

LT1HILLINGHOE: Not a real deep thinker...are you? Only a shallow thinker would make a blanket statement that "Jones and Twitty are better on this and every other song". Why not add Little Jimmy Dickens to your list? RVS's version is better due to his delivery/phrasing and to the production quality of the record. And are you trying to impress us by CLAIMING to know about RVS's past domestic situation or where he worked? I'm not impressed.

  28. L.... ....

@tortolafan You are going on all the different artists' rendition and saying the same thing. You need to know that Ricky Van Shelton, although a pretty good singer, does NOT own anything. George Jones is better along with Conway Twitty on this song and every other one. Charlie Rich is better on "Life's Little Ups and Downs" too. Sorry to burst your bubble, but facts are facts. And FTR, RVS used to just beat the hell out of his wife when he lived in Grit Va. and worked at Altavista Motors. Fact.

  29. L.... ....

    @melmannjr You're talking about Jesus...I hope.

  30. S.... S....

Love all the greats artists that have recorded this song but Ricky Van Shelton owns it.

  31. O.... O....

LittleJimmy Dickens does a great rendition also.

  32. M.... G....

@karendevaki I have to disagree with u on that one I think Ricky Van Shelton does this song best

  33. m.... m....

the best that ever walked this earth
