Jonathan Wilson - Love To Love Lyrics

Well I flew in from this old furniture town
A long, long time ago
At nineteen I was one of the lucky ones
A lad bright enough to leave
That old dirty town where they all put me down
So I brought with me these here 3 guitars
Yeah One for the cuts, 2 for the scars
But I'm not the only one who rolled into town
Just t lay my burden down

Well she's living high up there with the sun
With the fern and eucalyptus hey way up in the canyon
Cheer up child, drink that strawberry wine, another time
We've arrived in the state of mind
Where everything's moving gears
Like limb to limb and mouth to mouth and hey
You gotta love to love
You gotta love to love
You gotta love to love
La da da da da da da da

I was in Topanga just about long enough
To see what it's got to turn into to expect the dust
I saw Venus just North of Zuma Beach
She was too Hollywood to even recognize me
Hey they say the boulevard board it sparkles like diamonds
Hey Tall and malachite, Always light up the night
I lost you baby on Yamashiro hill
Those pagodas in your eyes light up the city even still

Well she's living high up there with the sun
With the fern and eucalyptus hey way up in the canyon
Cheer up child, drink that strawberry wine, another time
We've arrived in the state of mind
Where everything's moving gears
Like limb to limb and mouth to mouth and hey
You gotta love to love
You gotta love to love
You gotta love to love
La da da da da da da da

  5. Y.... D....

Great song, when I get to travel America and meet lots of cool people, this will be played loud as fuck.... LAlalalalalalala!!! So nice to see people here appreciating this great song. We do gotta love to love.

  6. G.... B....

I love Fanfare, but this song is so out of step with the rest of the album. Where the majority of the record is searching and original, utilising the best from the 70s while offering something fresh, this track is a poor, derivative throwaway.

I don't agree with Herzog tought!

Wow...such a happy song and truly beautiful video in all ways.  I love the editing and the cameras and the people in it, and just the whole world it creates.  Too good to be true, but that's not going to stop us from trying.

I hate to say it, but in the fairness of honesty and critique for the sake of realization and improvement, this really isnt on par with the real brilliance of 60s music. It lacks the heart and charisma though it shares some of the same sounds on the surface level. I admire these people for trying to keep something alive but they are missing the point of so much of what made the 60s awesome. Those songs people loeve from the 60s werent just about good vibes and peace n love and long hair, those writers were very skilled and they did it right when they could. This is a very very middle of the road songwriting effort. You will never see a true Laurel Canyon/hippie revival until they get some real writers in there and thats just how it goes. Writing first, style second.

maybe Jonathan, maybe too few others know what is really going on behind it all? and tweetie who might you be?

  11. E.... G....

    Fantastica

  12. T.... ....

Such a shame that this song is such a different style than the rest of the album, he needs to make more like this Bob Dylan like music.

Wonderful. Best album of 2013 for me!

Who is the blonde in this video? So beautiful.

    Awesome song. JW is fantastic!

  17. x.... ....

    drum sound killed the song.

Interesting, because sometimes I wonder, when people listen to a song and love it , why is it that I think the snare , or drum sound is rubbish. Glad I'm not the only one.

  18. B.... W....

Love this entire record, , , yes I do!

  19. D.... ....

I love that I love this video!! See you tomorrow in Nantes :)
