This song is so beautiful. I remember going to Disney world and at the resort we stayed at played the movie that this song is from then I went to a costume ball at Disney world with my dad we dance to this song. Sadly my dad died in 2016 to an unexpected heart attack. Almost 4 years ago and on the weekend I was listening to this song and crying non stop. He says, "we *are* so close" not, "we *were* so close". As a writer, I know this makes a difference. He's saying, as paraphrased, "We're almost there. We might just make it to happily ever after." This is a romantic song, especially for engagement parties and even weddings.

*Plus, he's sang, "How could I face the faceless days, if I should *lose you now*?" This says they're either not broken up or they're not going to be able to be together in the future and they know it.

Whew...Thank goodness....I thought my childhood will be ruined!

When it says "so close" it does not mean "we're almost there". It means they're physically close but still so far away emotionally. "Almost believing this was not pretend". This is not a happy song. "Romantic dreams will stop, so I bid mine goodbye". This is not a wedding song IMHO.

The song fits right along with the situation and feelings of the two in the movie. They're obviously in love, but unsure if the other feels the same. It's just like when you really fall in love, and part of you feels like , this is the real thing.... But fear and doubt holds you back from expressing your true feelings. "So close. Yet so far" .... Because they almost lost each other. But everything worked out in the end. Fairy tales can come true. It's a very beautiful and romantic song! :)
