Johnson, Robert - Kind Hearted Woman Blues Lyrics

I got a kind hearted woman
Do anything in this world for me
I got a kind hearted woman
Do anything in this world for me
But these evil-hearted women
Man, they will not let me be
I love my baby
My baby don't love me
I love my baby, oooh
My baby don't love me
But I really love that woman
Can't stand to leave her be

A-ain't but the one thing
Makes Mister Johnson drink
I's worried 'bout how you treat me, baby
I begin to think
Oh babe, my life don't feel the same
You breaks my heart
When you call Mister So-and-So's name

She's a kindhearted woman
She studies evil all the time
She's a kindhearted woman
She studies evil all the time
You well's to kill me
As to have it on your mind

This is so great. And it may not sink in right away, but when it does you will get a sense that you've been given a dose of something real. And that it what art and music should be... we are too concerned with perfection and rules these days. It is time to start challenging our rigid ways with pure and spontaneous expression

    P.... M....

Jazz itself as a term meant 'dirty music'...And those who played outside the Church were considered to have sold their souls to the devil to play other genres of music. So since it was no use arguing with general opinion he probably went along with this notion and wrote this song.

  56. D.... B....

    Where's the guitar solo ?

  57. J.... G....

    2018.. (Y)

  58. D.... D....

    puto amo

  59. S.... ....

I've owned these recordings for years. Recently I had the chance to really seriously listen to them. Everyone should do the same because I don't understand how one guitar player on a cheap acoustic guitar, without overdubs, could do what he did. How did he play shuffle type rhythms with his thumb and improvise with his remaining fingers while singing? The independence that he showed is crazy. Sometimes I think he did make the deal.

    S.... ....

When you're in your element and don't listen to negative comments about your choices of music (devil's music) and go on .He is a great example .thank God he did not hold to the church believes that ask for repentance and stop playing and singing.

  60. J.... B....

Selling ur soul to the devil....or I've been away practicing my guitar playing?? :-)

  85. J.... C....

Anyone noticed the strange evil looking face in the background on the second picture? On the top oh the right corner on the wall... just saying

  86. j.... p....

How does one actually sell their soul to the devil? might be a figure of speech i would imagine

  87. M.... Z....

The first take contained his only recorded solo... The second take sounds rushed 'cause the recording engineers discouraged his throwing solos in. You must realize how nervous he must have been.

  88. h.... ....

This sounds like me and the devil blues but with different lyrics

  89. C.... W....

his voice was way ahead of its time.. like at least 2-3 decades.

  90. C.... W....

i feel like this was so ahead of it'd time. oh my lord.

  91. P.... B....

I just noticed something. Blues is folk's moody phase, emo is rock's moody phase, and now we're getting into hip hop's moody phase. Now this leads me to a theory, being the genre cycle. Most popular genres go through this phase of dark, moody, sad vibes making an influx in the genre's eye. I wouldn't exactly know where the concept of this cycle started.
