Johnny Winter - Dallas Lyrics
Goin' back to Dallas, take my razor and my gun
Goin' back to Dallas, man, take my razor and my gun, oh yeah
Lots of people lookin' for trouble, man, sure gonna give 'em some
I believe old Dallas, man, is the meanest town I know
Because you're not safe in Dallas, I don't care where you go
You know that I ain't evil, just wanna have some fun
There's so much shit in Texas, I'm bound to step in some
Goin' back to Dallas, take my razor and my gun
If there are people lookin' for trouble, sure gonna give 'em some
I load up my revolver, sharpen up my knife
Some redneck messin' with me man, I'm bound to have his life
Man, people there lookin' for trouble, sure gonna give 'em some

Johnny Winter Dallas Comments
Best ever
Some of you don't realize that this is a seminal performance by one of the great old blues masters from Texas
Oh, we know...Don't worry !!!
yeah. Johnny!
One of my favorite songs.
Great tune. Sounds like a resonator guitar?
You are correct.
@Miki Osep a Chrysanthemum "tri-plate" to be exact
So much shit in texas, your bound to step in some. Lol
"There's so much shit in Texas, I'm bound to step in some"
Exactly....
An armed society is a polite society. I pack pepper spray to use if possible and a .40 S&W if there is a gang of thugs. I have never had to use either and don't expect to.
Reminds me of the Dallas Winston
cool stuff. always thought he used the old fashioned "riever" but it is razor!
One of the very best of his very best - Robert Johnson raised from the dead to hear this.
Johnny, we miss you so.
yes in deed , yes sir!
bad ass guitar player
Johnny's favorite song as I see why. He'll be immortal.
Johnny's Favorite Song was "Stranger" he wrote it,,, always mentioned it as his favorite... I've been a Johnny Winter Fan since I was 17 years old, I'm 64 now. I saw Johnny Winter live from 1973 to 1999.
great song
You will never be forgotten brother!
It'll be hard to forget that skinny, albino, white mofu ^_º

You will be missed Johnny. Thanks for all the great music.
RIP, Johnny. I'll miss you!
RIP Johnny! We know you're jamming with some greats up there!
Last time at Tampa Stadium Johnny an Edger wouldn't play back up to Tull ...canceled made good 2 weeks later at Lakeland civic! Goodshow!
Great stuff there...
Great Tune! Love that slide!
WOW. Stupid of me to stumble, but I got my guitar and my fun. Maybe I need to get down to dallas and take my gun.
A little pub way down South on the coast in NSW Australia late 70's, we walked in and saw this guy sittin' on the stage just mic and amp and it looked and sounded like Johnny Winter ... this guys amazing the crowd of twenty or so thought. In this Southern drawl "Played this at Woodstock, hope y'all like it" ... it was him! Wasn't on tour or anything we knew about ... go figure? Just at the "local" havin' fun and later chatted with everyone over a beer. A real gentleman ... pure class.
Old timin' at its best!
Sho' sound like he been THERE ! lol
Yesh...
Thanks for the Backup, sometimes you wonder if anyone knows what your talking about.
Ye-ah buddy! I wouldn't try it either. Tex-ass kicks ass.
the hair on the right shoulder looks like a women's face... like one of Robert Johnson's cover...
The Whole World Is In Dallas These Days ! ! !
keep the top up...right?
This is slide guitar correct? It's awesome...
Johnny's playing a resonator guitar.
Little bit o' Robert Johnson Crossroads with a dash of Walking blues and a Muddy Waters turnaround. Mmmm hmmmmm.....make me wanna holla LORDY!!!
You forgot to add that your dog went along with your woman and the other guy in your pickup with your last bottle of rot gut whiskey.
@mkallen56 Oh, now this is a great comment mkallen56!! Thanks.
@hyperdiabolical its love and hate. you know how you can tell you´re in texas? your car breaks down, your woman runs off with another man and you feel like going out and stealing something...or, how to find texas? go west til you smell it then go south til you step in it....i LOVE texas but it makes me want to be MEAN...
In these parts we call it "Baja Oklahoma."
@lionstanding Thanks for saving me a trip to Texas.
; )
@hyperdiabolical
Well....he's from Houston and it's damned easy to step in da shit there....Dallas, as well...."Dallas is a woman who'll walk on you when you're down", so the song goes....
Johnny was from Beaumont, Texas
@lionstanding Ive never been to Texas. It's funny he'd say that and still live there.
"so much shit in Texas,
bound to step in some"
He damned sho' might have stepped in some with that line...
