I don't care who records this song. This version is and Always will be the BEST. Johnny's voice haunts my childhood memories. Still gives me a lump in my throat and a single tear in my eye. God what a great time to be young. Love this song, and all his songs, just great stuff.

In the mid 60's Johnny sang at the Whiskey a Go Go on the strip in Los Angeles. He was there every weekend and lots of others singers went there to hear him because he sang a blend of soul, country ,cajun and rock n rock...LOVE HIM

Johnny rivers isn't in the rock and roll of fame because he's that good. How's that?

I listened to this with my freshman year roommate during her break with the first love of her life. So painful to watch. She was so beautiful, natural blonde hair, sky blue eyes, blissfully innocent. I often wonder what happened to her.

It fits Linda. In the fall year of 1974. Remember?

I rolled into Vegas, parked on the strip, turned around and there was Johnny Rivers in the middle of the street on a flat bed trailer rocking it out. I figure he must have owed a mob debt. But he was great.

Johnny is in MY Rock n Roll hall of fame and that will never change. They have no class when they omit his wonderful talent.
