Johnny Nash - What Kind Of Love Is This? Lyrics

What kind of love is this that makes me wanna jump and shout?
I wanna know what kind of love is this that turns my heart inside out?
It's that itchy-twitchy feelin' that I have inside
Something overwhelming that I just can't hide
I wanna know (oh, yeah) whoa, yeah (oh, yeah) whoa, tell me (oh, yeah)
(What kind of love is this?)
What kind of love is this?

What kind of love is this that haunts me every day?
I wanna know what kind of love is this that makes me say the things I say?
Well, I'm walkin' around and grinnin' with my head in the air
The people think I'm crazy but I just don't care
I wanna know (oh, yeah) whoa, yeah (oh, yeah) whoa, tell me (oh, yeah)
(What kind of love is this?)
What kind of love is this?

Well, I feel like a man in outer space
I'm actin' like a psycho case
Hey, girl, stop this feelin'
Look at me, you've got me rockin' and a-reelin'!

Yeah, what kind of love is this, aw, that shakes me up so bad?
I wanna know what kind of love is this?, yeah, my situation is sad
Well, I just can't understand it, it just ain't real
I know no one has ever felt the way I feel
I wanna know (oh, yeah) whoa, yeah (oh, yeah) whoa, tell me (oh, yeah)
(What kind of love is this?)
What kind of love is this?

(What kind of love is this?)
(What kind of love is this?)
(What kind of love is this?)

I do too, although it had to grow on me

  8. TopshelfTom

Personally I like this version so much more than Joey Dee's.

  9. Bob Hughes

Johnny's a great singer. He recorded many demo records in his career. This recording and song are not up to Johnny's standards and ability. He is very versatile with many styles, thus the demand for him as a demo artist.

Good job nailing it down. Tough, sometimes. In the course of looking into this on my own, I discovered that Joey sings it in a 1962 movie, "Two Tickets to Paris," not as a performer but in character! (There is a clip not too hard to find on Youtube.)

I had some bad info earlier.. This actually is a remake. Although Johnny Nash wrote this he didn't record his own version until after Joey Dee had the hit with it

  12. PJDooWop

Actually it's from 1963. Looks like I got some bad info earlier. This IS a remake. Johnny was working as a song writer and Joey Dee recorded this song in 1963. This was issued in 1963. There are many people that swear Johnny Nash did the original version, but the RCA Matrix numbers of this 45 say it was issued in 1963. Joey Dee's version is from 1962
