This is the best voice ever. I cannot get enough of Mathis. I have so many of his records. I was married 50 years to a romantic. Sadly he died 10 years ago. Johnnie Mathis brings back all our lovely memories of a fantastic nam I had. Thanks.

Johnny....through all the years you have given us such beautiful ballads and love songs. Your voice is one of a kind. As your friend who also idolized your singing style, and have been grateful for all you have taught me, I somehow will repay that debt of gratitude. By the way, I love what you did with the arrangement of "One Day In Your Life". I'm still working on the rotary breathing.

My all time favorite song sung by my favorite singer.

I love the musical and this wonderful song which was performed by the two young lovers Tuptim and Luan Tha. The song is so full of promise and hope but what a heartbreaking ending for them. In the original musical the young lovers attempt to escape from the royal court and the constraints on their love but Tuptim is recaptured and Luan Tha is found dead. Tuptim is taken away by the guards to an unknown fate. So sad, but who better in this whole world to sing this beautiful ballad but the great Johnny Mathis. Superb upload ReadMeReadYou

Hello.......Thanks for the kind words. As for the song, it wasn't Percy Faith. Iit was arranged and conducted by Glenn Osser.and produced by Mitch Miller.

Try looking at the comments on amazon.com if you decide to buy this album. Apparently, the authentic original is SONY's 1999 cd issue (the one to buy), but there have been other "edited" versions issued (one is from EMI/London, apparently) which are pale imitations of the original and are of 'questionable' authorization. I have wound-up with the 'wrong' album from amazon, before, by not looking closely at the details before clicking "buy"!

I love how you started with such gorgeous still photos and then brought the dream to life with the actual beautiful movie footage! All the while, in the background, this ethereal performance of the song by Maestro Mathis and the orchestra & arranger (I did Search unsuccessfully for it was--Percy Faith?perhaps you can share that with us, when you have a chance?) usual gves it a wonderful renditon

He always seemed to sing the introductory verse to a
song, that's if the song had such a verse of course.
Some of these verses I found to be very melodious,such as
those to "My Romance" and "A Lovely Way to Spend an Evening."

Yes Alan he does and it's only right to do so, after all the song writer wrote them to be sung and give more body to the story of the song. Two more examples of him doing this are "The folks who live on the hill" and "What'll I do".

Yes, l also like when Johnny signs an intro. It sort of sets up the ' story ' of the song.

Great that he sang the verse - so many singers leave it off.

I have loved Johhny Mathis forever. His voice is like velvet and I could listen to it day and night. The Twelfth ov Never is my personal favourite as I was married on the twelfth of November. Now I am on my own and listening to such a beautiful voice gives me so much pleasure and brings back such happy memories. Keep going Johnny, never stop.
