Johnny Marr - European Me Lyrics
Now there is no turning back, once gone it traces impact
Watch out, there's no changing, a white light, right crawl out
Watch out the sun-covered track
Way before we seen it short come, the where that is a bad life
And losing an empty station, we can be safe from this
Free, free, free, I was outside, now still got a place to go
Way before we've seen it short come nowhere but it's a bad life
You're losing an empty station again, we get a pass back
And if she want, always wanna come back
We're free, free, free, I was outside, now still got a place to go
Way before we've seen the short come nowhere but it's a bad life
You're losing an empty station, we can be safe and look
Free, free, free, I was outside, now still got a place to go

Johnny Marr European Me Comments
❤❤❤❤❤🌷🌹
He is the British Gustavo Cerati, in my humble opinion. ❤️
here cuz EDDBUD
One of the best from this LP. Magical melody & guitar riffs
Where is the music video for this maxi single?
JOHNNY FUCKING MARR
hella good song
Toons great...lyrics are awful.
I love this song so much
Felt Penelope Tree , i think johnny might of taken a bit of inspiration , which is cool , love the power bridge , maybe he is inspired by the great lawrence of belgravia
The chord progression in the verse is the same as in The Smiths' Rusholme Ruffians.
Marr ran out of new ideas 30 years ago
What a bitter comment. Johnny constantly delivers something new. Couldn't say that about Morrissey.
I just think that you could be working with better visual artists to get your ideas across. The video is not good. TOO COOL and coldish.
Why would anybody dislike this?
Cause they don't have a life! XD
+sourya simha the odds of running into you. xD
also, is daspalla on? :P
a little bit of The Cars and Smiths
my oh my !
You can run a 4 minute mile with this song between your ears, with 4 seconds to spare.
Johnnys solo stuff blows Morriseys out of the water. This man is a proper musician and a total legend.Question is,why didn't he sing sooner.Great voice, excellent lyrics, who needs Steven anyways.
Well see it this way, Johnny totally knows how to choose the right notes in order to pull those nostalgic and melancholic strings in our minds, just like Morrissey do it with his words, they are carefully picked and hit right home. Both are very gifted but Johnny Marr is way more humble and that makes him a totally rad mate
Man, this beginning of this song is so Smiths-y. Makes me so happy. Love all of Johnny's work. :)
Grace Hine i agree 10000000percent
Let's go buy the album !
I am soooo going to steal that hook! Best song ever.
Great song... Johnny Marr is one of the guitar players that I think of when I'm creating guitar parts for my songs.
You know, Lollapalooza Brazil will present so many great bands like Soundgarden, Muse, Nine Inch Nails, Phoenix and Pixies but Johnny is the big star in the line up for me
For sure!
Absolutely beautiful. Why can't songs like this get to number 1???
FROM, 1983.
IF YOU LKIE THIS, GO BACK, LISTEN TO, PENELOPE TREE, BY FELT.
i don't think you have ANY idea what your talking about
Johnny was immense last night in Bristol

love johnny marr! one of my favourite guitarist !he looks a lot like al pacino in scarface?
El Guitarrero!
got my Wrexham tickets, can't believe johnny is playing there, tiny venue, gunna be the best.
Gorgeous song by an amazing talent (and what a nice guy to boot)! Thank you Johnny!
merseybeat1963 i agree ;)
That guitaring at the start and chorus is the usual Marr magic.
Could have been great but recording is so compressed,un natural and up front...
Better locate a Studer Revox and re do it on tape.
Johnny Marr is is a master..
Absolutely stunning work :)
Love it! Love Marr! Brilliant!
Love Mr. Marr. Thanks for returning!
stunning !!!!!!! =)
This is one gorgeous song
johnny marr is just pure amazing!!!
why does he cover make him look like he's on a skateboard?
He probably is. Multi-talented charming man
Favourite track on the album, the guitar is just magical..
yea, you're right. anyway, really digging this stuff, but cant help but wonder what Moz would do with these lyrically
/puts on helmet
/ducks for cover
This is a very good song with a definite classic appeal to it, but other than the fact that it is quite upbeat sounding, I'd have to say that the guitar licks in William are a bit more intricate.
Zipping down the streets of downtown Chicago and the intro to this gives me the extra push to bike against the winds!
Great song. Reminds me a little of Penelope Tree by Felt in the chorus
Added to playlist. 'Tis a tune no doubt. 92 people RULE and 1 person sucks so so badly!
when I say just like heaven, I refer directly to sound amazing and genius of Johmmy Marr, nothing more!
been listening to the album non stop...really like this one. this particular track sounds most like something that could have come out of his Smiths days. that being said, it sounds fresh and new, yet classic Marr in a way. JM didnt do much soloing in The Smiths so right there its distinguishing from their heydey. As Andrea True once said "more more more!"
i hear William it was really nothing in there, that's just me I guess.
Actually, if anything, this lead guitar intro is much like the guitar intro to Jumping Someone Else's Train much more than Just Like Heaven.
eh, I'm a huge Cure fan, and saying that the intro guitar is note for note Just Like Heaven is completely inaccurate. You'd have to say any descending guitar intro = Just Like Heaven, which would be folly.
yeah the riff at the beginning is note for note the riff from Just Like Heaven by The Cure.
Awesome !!!
My favourite.
Pretty great how nice this album is-leaps and bounds above the Healers album (which still has it's charm I think). I agree with the guy that says it sounds like home, just such comforting stuff. Thanks Johnny!
Just like Heaven, Incredible
brilliant cnção!!
Just reading the liner and he has both his children on this one. Lovely voice on his daughter's harmony and his son has really has carved out his own sound and that cannot have been easy with these footsteps to follow. It seems even Johnny has been trying not to play like Johnny for ages now. I have been waiting 20 years for this album. It sounds like home.
Brilliant.
Very REM. Cracking tune.
holy smiths
Musical ecstasy
Great song gonna go hiking well blasting this one for sure
Great guitar sound, fantatic tone...
charles from mtl
