My grandpa died yesterday, and he loved Johnny Cash. Thanks for the feedback and the clarification. I was thinking of another song written for Johnny by Marty Robbins called Kate that was on Johnny's album "Thing Called Love". I knew Roy had written this song "Best Friend" and that he and Johnny were good friends (and neighbors) for many years - through the good times and the bad.

thanks for putting this up. The song just came to me on the anniversary of a good friends death 10 years ago .... we are/were both musicians and I played it at his memorial. Haven't heard it in a long time
