For the most part, I like this, but..... I was jammin' to it in my car when all of a sudden....THE DOGGONE GAP BAND. THE GAP BAND??? REALLY???? And I'm not saying this in a good way. (((NOTE....I didn't select this song to play; it's simply a video that came on after another gospel music video went off.))) I glanced down at it for a second (because I'm driving) at the beginning and saw the title "Mighty God/Outstanding", but it didn't really dawn on me ------- until I heard the melody. DANGIT John P. Kee!!! I love the gift God has placed inside of this guy, but Gospel Artists have GOT TO STOP THIS! STOP GOING OUT INTO THE WORLD TO GET SECULAR INFLUENCE then mixing it into gospel music then wanna regurgitate it back up to God. I understand this video and song aren't current and this has been happening forever, but it doesn't make it right. This song was PERFECTLY FINE WITHOUT the Gap Band and Average White Band's references/plug-ins. I can't stand when WE CHURCH PPL mess a good song up like this. These songs are supposed to glorify our HEAVENLY Father. When you mix songs like "Outstanding" and "Pick Up the Pieces" (with the image of a woman's behind on the cover) all up and through, the people who have left the world alone and have come out of that lifestyle have to now contend with going back INTO the world for however long that melody is played. I'm not saying they're gonna go back into the club after hearing this ---- I'm just saying it's a familiar song, and it mentally brings them back to their worldly days. So, while they're up there singing "God is outstanding......have no doubt" (or whatever they're saying), the folks who know the ORIGINAL "Outstanding" song are thinking about the ORIGINAL lyrics: "Girl you knock me out" ---- Then they wanna change the words to "church it up". You can modify the words all you want - the original intent of the song stays the same. Come on nah.....we can praise and worship God WITHOUT secular music. Just stop!!! Other than that, the song is FIYAH!!!!!
