John Martyn - Some People Are Crazy Lyrics

Some people are crazy about him
Some people can't stand his face
Some people they smile when they know he's coming
Some people chase him out of the place

But this loving kind of business
Might make your poor heart glad
Yes this loving kind of business
Might be the best find you ever had
The best find you ever had

Some people are crazy
Some people are just plain good
Some people talk wouldness and couldness
Some people don't do as they should

But this loving kind of business
Might make your poor heart glad
Yes this loving kind of business
Might be the best thing that you ever had
The best find you ever had

Some people got a glass eye
Some people got a window to watch
Some people draw conclusions like curtains
Ah, don't they draw them tight
Don't they, draw them tight
Don't they, draw them tight
Don't they, draw them tight

Ah, some people are crazy about him
Some people they can't stand his face
Some people they laugh when they know he's coming
Some people chase him out of the place

Some people are crazy
Some people are just like me

Some people are crazy
Some people are just like me

John Martyn Some People Are Crazy Comments

Loved it in 1990 and still love it now, glad I found this upload :)

  2. d.... ....

If Phil Collins had only done this, one would be looking up liner notes to find out who played these drums and marking his name.. One of my fav. Martyn songs. Some people are just plain good.

  3. J.... ....

That has to be Percy Jones on bass.  Or maybe John Giblin...

  4. a.... ....

Boss tune! Plus was lucky enough to have seen him play live twice, he was a good man and a great artist :)

  5. L.... B....

Hij heeft fantastische muziek gemaakt. ... zijn stem.... speciaal. ...

  6. a.... ....

Talkin' about trippy heh; was lucky enough to see this dude twice in concert...

Once at the london palladium (excellent concert) and once at the dominion tottenham court road

This last being based around his then new album 'Grace & Danger'

And maan what a show that was! Went with 3 friends and was blown away!

We literally staggered outta that concert and were all seeing mild hypnagogia all over the place in the form of blobs and splashes of colour, each thinking it was just them alone affected until we discussed it and realised that all 4 of us were basically trippin all the way home hehehe...

This was one of the tracks from that concert: What a Knockout! :)

  7. J.... ....

I still love every single piece of music from this men ...

  8. P.... K....

    Far ahead.

  9. Q.... J....

One of the most beautiful songs he ever came up with. He had many, but this among the best. If I need to get hold of some sanity, I try to listen to a little John Martyn.

  10. A.... W....

Massive fuck you to the 3 people giving this a thumbs down.

Don`t worry about them, "some people are just crazy …"

So sad that this genius has gone. I met him onstage at the lemon tree in Aberdeen when I was a just a wee student. This God of music signed my shirt as Johnny too bad. Awesome night that I remember well. God bless you John Martyn

  14. h.... c....

This song has a wierd effect on me, it must be due to a deep memory that I cant recall when I went to his concert so many years ago at a Kent Uni at the princessly cost of 50p

  15. B.... M....

    Awesome awesome and awesome again

  16. b.... c....

one of the most self aware men to ever write a song.you either love him or you hate him

    b.... c....

Very true - met him few times - he could be a bugger but still a gem :)

    b.... c....

@Lee Berry I'm curious in what ways he was a bugger at times? I've heard people close to him say this but I'd like to know exactly what they mean.

    b.... c....

@Wandering Sailor alcohol & misogynistic kind of things at times in a nutshell alas - still remains one of my top fave artists nonetheless - a tortured soul - Pobody's Nerfect.. x

  17. K.... ....

  18. C.... ....

    Damn this song is great.

  19. m.... ....

I saw your original comment and wondered if you'd stayed sober. Then I saw your second comment. ;)
I love it when I get to see somebody else win the new life lottery. Congratulations!!!
It'll be 25 years for me next Tuesday and it's been worth every bit of it.
I wish John could've joined us on the Road of Happy Destiny...

    k.... s....

    Good on yer, Kris!

    k.... s....

So how you doin' 4 yrs on bud?

    k.... s....

Good on you. It's a tough business. Best to you. You have excellent taste in music as well. This one is a stunner!

    k.... s....

Nice one kris s - I love it when anyone I know kicks the alcohol and begins talking like they are in a real conversation, rather than talking shite and laughing at it. Welcome back to the world mate. With love from a total stranger, but one who knows where you've been, and hopefully knows the beautiful places you're now going. x

  31. M.... ....

Some people are crazy, he wasn't making it up.

  32. i.... ....

... this and 'Hurt In Your Heart' are my favorite songs on the album. Great opener to the album. Phil Collins on the drums here.

  33. L.... B....

    Some people are CR-R-RAZOO

  34. T.... ....

Love is crazy. Love is Insane. Love is knowing who you best care for. Love the one you Love. before they disappear,

  35. M.... R....

I had the pleasure to meet the big man .Its music that i will always return to.

  36. m.... ....

    so laid back its horizontal

  37. C.... ....

"Some people are crazy about him" - not surprised he was a genius!!
Love the line "Some people talk Wouldnaes & Couldnaes" ha ha, John resorting to the Scottish vernacular!

    C.... ....

Yes! And then "....draw conclusions like curtains.. Don't they draw them tight!" Brilliant.

  38. 6.... ....

thanx people how good is this man can`t put it in t words love somany different types of music even eminem but nothing beats this man drwas me back and keep on thinkin how the world has misses the talent of this truly great artist the man makes me cry and I love it

  39. V.... A....

naturally fantastic f'n tune - butiful

  40. a.... ....

The soundtrack to my childhood (thanks Mum!) And so many years later I'm still enthralled by the genius and the beauty of this man's music. What a talent, it will be very difficult to better his brilliance.

  41. S.... W....

met john in the late 70's backstage -he was looking at a badge i was wearing that spoke about my christian faith - the next album had this track on it????

  42. i.... ....

quite liking this a tremendous amount ....

  43. J.... S....

Grace and danger is a brilliant illustration of this mans genius
    Johnny Shamrock

  44. d.... ....

This has to be one of the most amazing grooves ever committed to a recording. Slow and smooth with all those wonderful ghost strokes on the snare and hi-hat. The whole song absolutely bristles with energy.

  45. a.... ....

"Some people draw conclusions like curtains, don't they draw them tight, don't they?" Superb lyrics!

    a.... ....

Just made the same comment before I saw yours (-: The additional "Don't they draw them tight, don't they?" Perfect!

  46. S.... W....

Deeply joylody in the auricles, many thankees.

  47. D.... ....

For me Grace and Danger, Solid AIr and The Apprentice are my favourite albums of the big man. But Grace and Danger is so personal, and in places heart wrenching that it almost makes you feel that you are intruding on his personal life just listening to it.

  48. m.... ....

    What a great album!!

  49. f.... c....

    canzone fantastica!
