You're right. There's a lot of speculation on what was going on between them during those final days. One thing's for sure: it wasn't all sunshine and rainbows as was often conveyed and romanticized in the songs and interviews. Yoko strikes me as a woman who is accustomed to getting her way. John was needy and insecure with complex childhood abandonment and mother issues. The photo that was taken on the day of his death which appeared on the cover of Rolling Stone said it all: John naked, clinging; Yoko clothed, indifferent.
