John Lennon - Angela Lyrics
Angela, they put you in
prison
Angela, they shot down
your man
Angela, you`re one of the
prisioners in the world.
Sister, there's wind that
never dies
Sister, we're breathing
together
Sister, our loves and hopes
forever keep
on moving oh so slowly
in the world.
Angela, can you hear the
earth is turning?
Angela, the world
watches you.
Angela, you soon will be
returning to your sisters and
brothers of the world.
Sister, you're still a people
teacher
Sister, your word reaches far
Sister, there's a million
different races but we all
share the same future
in the world.
They gave you sunshine
They gave you sea
They gave you everything but
the jailhouse key.
They gave you coffee
They gave you tea
They gave you everything
but equality.

I wholly oppose extreme left politics, and I doubt I would've supported the release of this person from prison, but.....
This song is awesome.
This song works well with Lennon and Yoko the best on a duet...Yoko is actually singing...at least she's not screeching!!

I think this song captures the duet of Lennon and Yoko the best. Just listen, as their voices weave in and out together. If you hate Yoko, switch channels!
Yeah this song works well with them on a duet...Yoko is actually singing...at least she's not screeching!!
Thank you, John Lennon and Vladimir Lenin!
John Lenin
Great song. Lennon the protest singer, bravely engaging with the issues of his day. He opposed the Vietnam War and the Beatles refused to play at segregated concerts in the US south. It was written into their contracts. Their music had been inspired by black musicians. The album "Some Time In New York City" was banned by the BBC largely because of its support for Irish liberation.
