John Fogerty - I Ain't Never Lyrics

Wellllllll, I ain't never, I ain't never, seen nobody like you,
No no never, have I ever, seen nobody like you-oo-oo.

You call me up, say you'll meet me at nine,
I have to hurry, hurry, but I'm there on time,
I walk right up and knock on your door,
The landlord says "She ain't here no more."

[CHORUS:]
I ain't never, oh darlin', seen nobody like you-oo-oo,
But I love ya, yeah I love ya, I love you just the same.

Well, you tell me things that you don't mean,
You got me livin' in a haunted dream,
You make me do things, I don't wanna do,
My friends they stay away, but what's so wrong with you?

[CHORUS:]
I love you just the same.

John Fogerty I Ain't Never Comments
  1. T.... H....

Great music so turn this one up and it gets better the louder it is.

  2. g.... s....

Great. One of the great fades, The Elmore James riff kicks it to another level and a heavy back-beat throughout. Fogerty knows how to rock.

  3. T.... B....

This is one of my dad's favorite albums. I grew up to my dad listening to this all the time. Great music.

  4. R.... ....

Sorry, a B+ at best to Webb Pierce's A+ and Mel Tillis' A-.

  5. J.... C....

    This song is so underrated!

  6. D.... K....

This is John Fogerty playing every instrument & singing all the parts, including back-up singing, too! John Fogerty is The Blue Ridge Rangers. John plays 20 instruments or so to make this album. The reason he called himself “The Blue Ridge Rangers is, not long after the break-up of his beloved band “Creedence Clearwater Revival” he didn’t want to cash I on the Creedence name & so his one man band could be accepted on its own merits! I believe he accomplished this. That is integrity, folks!👍

  7. J.... C....

My mom introduced me to this good ol music. It sure fills the heart with wonderful memories. Say a prayer for her if you dont mind yall good folk

  21. K.... F....

Hey, I live in California, but grew up in Texas. The people out here are very friendly, there are just a few issues that people disagree on. Kindness should not be one

  22. K.... F....

There's lots of Texans and Okies out here in California. We do country too! Ever hear of La Costa? Great singer!

  41. T.... H....

John singing one of Mel Tillis' classic hit (written and recorded) songs.

    T.... H....

+noah hermes I mentioned in another posting that Webb Pierce and Mel Tillis did this song (Webb did it first, in '59). They both share an August 8 birthday, Pierce in 1921, Tillis in 1932. Webb Pierce died at 69 on 2-24-1991.

  42. R.... M....

Ok, I feel better. Friend send me a clip of an interview. He is democrat but leans more to libertarian. Doesn't do politics at his shows because he appreciates ALL his fans.

  43. R.... M....

I love everything that Ccr ever recorded. EVERYTHING! EVERYTHING John has ever written. Taught myself to play drums listening to Creedence. I wish he would kept his politics to himself. Blueridge Rangers is all him. Vocal and instruments. Quite an achievement.

    R.... M....

Learn to love people you disagree with. That is most of your fellow man!

    R.... M....

just found out tonight this album was all John, I always wondered who the Blue Ridge Rangers were..

    R.... M....

@Karl Fisher The Democrats/liberals/progressives NEVER seem to "learn to love people you disagree with"...They throw milkshakes at them, refuse to serve them or spit on them in public establishments, "dox" them & generally utilize Alinsky's "Rules For Radicals" ("ridicule is your most potent weapon"). IMO: there is no one more hateful, spiteful or intolerant than the average liberal/progressive/Democrat

  44. R.... B....

You all need to give a listen to the Mel Tillis version to this song.

    R.... B....

+Gary Kerns Yes my problem is I have outlived my music. Rock and Country do not exist anymore not even on the radio unless you have Sirus or Pandora. I hate to listen to the radio anymore.

    R.... B....

+Texasbil Henson I frequently make cassette recordings of stuff from youtube. There's one recent song that I can honestly say I like, namely Ed Sheeran's "Thinking out Loud". The backbeat reminds me of Marvin Gaye's "Let's Get it On".

    R.... B....

+Texasbil Henson he did because Mel didn't have the cloout to record yet. he was first of all a song writer

    R.... B....

    RIP Mel Tillis

    R.... B....

Robert Bales Pam Tillis is the only talent in her family

  45. T.... H....

I know this boy is from California but I can tell you he sings Louisiana and Texas music.

    T.... H....

+Texasbil Henson as i recall from reading a book about the group, his home life was kinda disfunctional  and he loved southern sounding singers so he trained his voice to sound like one as a teenage practicing his guitar in his room. he grew up a bout 25 miles from where i live at now in the Bay Area(El Cerrito)

    T.... H....

Bay area and Lodi area is where he spent his childhood, Lodi is still as country as it gets!!

  46. g.... ....

Sounds like it should have been a Buddy Holly song. Love it

    g.... ....

    Webb Pierce

    g.... ....

+goldthorpe1 Truth to tell, if one were to eliminate the vocals, this would be a dead ringer for "That'll be the Day". I, too, wonder what Buddy's version would have sonded like.

    g.... ....

+Gary Kerns you are right in a way, never noticed it before

  47. b.... ....

no no no never .. seen nobody like YOU !

  48. c.... ....

    Late night tunes

  49. P.... ....

Excellent remake of this song, by Webb Pierce in the late Fifties.I think it was 1959.

  50. P.... M....

I grew up listening to my grandparents dancing around the living room, late at night, brings back good memories for me :)

  51. K.... K....

I love this song and everything it means to me. the good ol' days will always be in my heart. M-U-MBAS
