John Fogerty - A 110 In The Shades Lyrics

Way out there in the cotton
Sun beatin' down so hard
Sweat rollin' of this shovel
Diggin' in the devil's boneyard
Sure like a cool drink of water
Soft rag to soothe my face
Sure like a woman to talk to in this place

It's a hundred and ten
Hundred and ten in the shade
Goin' way down
Mama won't you carry me

Handle so hot I can't stand it
Might shrivel up and blow away
Noonday sun make you crazy
Least, that's what the old men say

Bottom land hard as a gravestone
Couldn't cut it with an axe
Gonna lay me down right here
And that's a fact

It's a hundred and ten
Hundred and ten in the shade
Goin' way down
Mama won't you carry me

Sometimes late in the evenin'
Everything is quiet and still
I set here and think about leavin'
Lord, I guess I never will
Heartache down in that city
Bright light scares me anyway
Sure like a woman to talk in this place

It's a hundred and ten
Hundred and ten in the shade
Goin' way down
Mama won't you carry me

Now CCR WOULD HAVE taken a song like this and made it jam. This is dull.

  12. G.... G....

Big lost in CCR John mistake is let band members write songs in last albums , this guy was genius writing songs and last album broke CCR ...

    G.... G....

They broke up anyway. I think he tried to keep peace and let them have some "say so". Stu Cook did one that was not bad though..

Just let your minds eye truly Picture it y’all.... Ok it was summer, the one between grade school and high school and I was 14. The mushrooms where definitely kicking in on a much stronger(more introspective) level then anything else that had proceeded in the previous 4 hours. A dirty blonde 7yrs my senior😳 with a coke bottle figure, Golden tan skin, no makeup, barefoot in a frayed old sundress. Takes me inside sits me on a barstool and puts this song on then turns on a strobe light. I can almost see my self 15 yrs later. Just barely 14 yrs old taking my first trip ever(mostly to act cool around this girl). When I say it was a spiritual experience I mean it as sincerely as any one could possibly describe there religious belief. I was just struck With jaw dropping awe of this moment I was witnessing👀!!! She moved so care free like I wasn’t even there. While at the same time, it couldn’t have been any more perfect had it been choreographed by the gods themselves. Every time her hips swayed or sunk in one direction her upper body seemed to almost do the polar opposite. It was like a girl trying to out dance her own reflection. AWWWWWWW MANNNNNNM!!!!!!!THAT MOMMENT WILL NEVER LEAVE ME, IT WAS ONE OF THOSE RARE GOD MOMENTS THAT HAPPEN maybe MORE THEN ONCE A LIFETIME? IF UR LUCKY

I'm a Native North Carolinian, but I've moved to western NY. After surviving 3 winters here. I sort of miss the oppressive heat. It's messed up, but the sweltering humidity feels like home. My blood is too thin for New York. =/

John Fogerty is Amongst the most unappreciated Artists ever, Freddy Mercury was A true Octave Voice. He was Pasted by cause he was Gay, Lou Gram(lead singer of Foreigner )Was Indeed a Voice to remember. Short of Aerosmith the Rolling Stones take longevity for a Band. And one of my Favorites is Jim Morrison(Only cause I can Duplicate Him in Karaoke). Guys sing with Soul Women singers sing with Bleeding Hearts But I can say Except for Any Lennox and Janis Joplin.

    d.... c....

there 1 singing woman who sings with soul and a bleeding heart , look for beth hart , have fun .
