John Denver - Today Is The First Day Of The Rest Of My Life Lyrics
Today is the first day of the rest of my life, I wake as a child to see the world begin.
On monarch wings and birthday wonderings, want to put on faces, walk in the wet and cold.
And look forward to my growing old, to grow is to change, to change is to be new,
to be new is to be young again, I barely remember when.
I'll abide the sun's hypnotic eye.
Today is the first day of the rest of my life, I wake as a child to see the world begin.
On monarch wings and birthday wonderings, want to put on faces, walk in the wet and cold.
And look forward to my growing old.

John Denver Today Is The First Day Of The Rest Of My Life Comments
I believe this same songwriter (Pat Garvey at least) wrote the incredibly melancholy "A Christmas World" recorded by the New Christy Minstrels in 1963 https://youtu.be/8cqLNy-Wqoc . I hope he did OK
Most beautiful voice and love the song. Miss John Denver...
😍😍😍😍😍👏👏👏💜💜💜
It's fugacity, you goof. Google it!
It's true the word 'fugacity' falls more in line with the lyrics of the song. However, John Denver chose to name the song 'Sugacity'; that is how it is listed on the Rhymes and Reasons album. Maybe there was a mistake by the record label!
First time hearing this !! And absolutely love it !!! ~♡♡♡♡♡I will always love JD~♡
I will too! I hope you enjoy the song!

P.S. ... Some one mentioned it should be Fugacity ....is that correct ?
And what is it also anyway ?
After looking it up, I believe the word 'Fugacity' means 'quickly fading, as from the memory'. That does sort of make sense with the lyrics of the song, but on the CD the song is listed as 'Sugacity', which I don't think is a real word.
