John wrote this song as a “tribute” to his new born son, BUT it applies to Everyone. The “Ray of Sunshine” that John refers to is the HIGHER SELF Spiritual Self. ONCE a person is “Connected” to their Own “Ray of Sunshine” such a Person becomes “A Candle in the Night”, for Themselves and Other People and New Day and a New Tomorrow Can begin.
