This post is a couple of years old. I don't know how this story has turned out, but so much of the advice has me put off.
I've been close with Male friends before and over the years a few have wanted more than friendship. It's ruined every one of those friendships. I can't reciprocate what I just don't feel. She's wrong to give you such meaningful compliments. Being young is hard enough emotionally without playing with someone's head whether you or them mean to or not. All close relationships have a foundation of friendship and can never go further than that unless both of you have the same connection with each other. You don't need to change for a woman to love you back ( this doesn't include control issues, anger and jealousy. Those things have to change) otherwise you're good enough just the way you are. There is someone else who you're going to be crazy about who will feel for you the same way. Feeling the pressure of someone wanting more than you can give ruins good friendships every day.
