Bug-eyed Billy Joel sucks. Fired Liberty DeVito (his drummer for 20 years) without even an explanation, a card, a letter, a phone call, nothing. What a douchebag. Liberty figured it out when he wasn't invited to Joel's wedding (number 5, I think) Billy is a P.O.S. and his weak ass elevator music sucks!

I am not an emotional person, and every time this darned song comes on I have to work not to shed tears. Billy Joel at his finest, IMHO. The transition at that bridge is to die for, THAT is music. It is always obvious when a performer is baring his or her soul, and it is often when they are at their best. One exquisite piece of music Mr. Joel, no question, and my favorite lullaby, hands down. I predict this song will live on and be loved for millennia, if we exist that long.

I remember hearing this song when I was 16 and thinking how I couldn't wait to sing it to my future daughter. 24 years later, on August 19th, baby Amelia was born and today I sang it to her for the first of many times. :)

I’ve always loved this song and at times sung it to my children. Now, going through a divorce it brings on a whole new meaning. Trying to answer the hard questions my little ones ask about mommy and daddy’s separation and me trying to understand their tender little hearts and minds as they struggle through all this... I’ve spent nearly every day of their lives with them, loving and caring for them. Now, they have to spend time away from mom and time away from dad and they can’t understand why. I hope they’ll always know that no matter where they go or where they are they’ll always be a part of me and their father and will always, ALWAYS be loved.

I don't know about the timing of this song but knowing some divorced fathers as my friends - I'm sure the time spent with their angels (or times spent in the past) must be magnified a million times
