Joe Walsh - County Fair Lyrics
Found an old puzzle somebody had quit
Tried a few pieces and hoped that they fit
But they're going together so slowly
It may take me forever to know
If it's only a puzzle
Parts of the puzzle will never be found
And even though pieces are gone
It's a county fair picture
Part of me's there
Some of the pieces are still at the fair
And it may be forever

I've never met a phaser pedal I didn't like. Guitar. Bass. Keyboards. All sound awesome through a phaser, phase shifter etc.

Joe Walsh is a musical genius <3 <3 <3 Rock on brother!!!
Rock on Joe!
Rock on Joe!
Incredible use of the skins on this track!
My favorite Joe Walsh song. Deliciously spacey. Phase shifting. Backward guitars. LOTS of guitars. Druggy lyrics. And Joe Vitale's remarkable drumming.
Perfection.
Keep on rockin' Joe, you're the best.
Once had a dumb dude, dung dood
A fellow I onst knowed
Dumbed down dude had me mad.
He had me mad,
Because I made
I newly found ski video
A video of skiing
A new video
Of skiing. Anyway....listen to how the ski poles
Dig in
Feel yourself pulling yourself
Pull it
Until you're going downt hte plunge, the steepest slope in North America
Except the Presidency.
But never mind that,
Never mind that man
That man behind the curtain:
Joe Walsh.
There were times during this era when Joe Walsh produced music which was so beautifully put together that it defied description. The two Joes played instinctively and in perfect combination. Simply stunning music.
Take me back to the 70s
Without Limits 🎥
This track, in my opinion, could have been the one that convinced The Eagles Joe Walsh was a good fit for them. His songs are not unlike what they came up with: of course, he went a step further with orchestration.
I'd, rather be dead than to have known known any body like u.
I thank Joe Walsh for this. Kept me from suiciding in the mid-'80's when I was only 20.
Great memories of this song. Still enjoying it today! Thanks for the post!

I was so lucky to grow up in Memphis Tennessee. I can't count the times I saw Joe Walsh on stage! Amazing talent! And, OMG, he was also my neighbor! He bought a house a few doors down from me when I lived in Midtown And Yes, I admit, I GOT NO SHAME! I did stalk him... But only from the sidewalk, lol!!! screaming
"HEY JOE, I LOVE YOU, please come out and play me a songggg!" I don't think he was home much, probably avoiding me, lol... I'm guessing that Joe just bought the house to say that he lived in Memphis maybe, IDK? He did perform there a lot. This was in the early 90's, when Memphis was still a great place to live... Man, I so miss those days and all the great bands I saw there. And tickets were like $15 for the good seats!!!
Its morning in michigan
i been kidding myself kenny
Such a good artist. Joe Walsh is a great talent.
This album was and still is a masterpiece! Critics are never right about the best!
Old Time Fav.
This song will be played at my funeral...hopefully quite a ways off
I can never get enough of his music. I love you, Joe!
Who the hell are these thumbs down people?? This is music meant for the soul not for some cheap video crap.

Peak experience in a winter land...concert microdot or was it orenge sunshine. Stuff so tiny yet gives you a 72 hour journey. Ah those were the days . Unbridled experiments ♡ T~Y Joe Walsh ☆ turn to stone
The song is called County Fair, not Country Fair.
I'd call this "A Trip Around the World". So good! Thanks for the upload!
Only a puzzle.
I'm here after surfing my memories....now I want some Joe Walsh posters!
came to this song thanks to the movie without limits
31 thumbs down they can't be human
This is a good song to smoke a joint to.
Early -mid 70's hanging out at the bottom edge of Frampton's house in Bedford Hills, NY with beers..(Ha!) listening to Peter and Joe jamming, So tight and LOUD!
spent 2 years 80-81 living in a garage this song was a favorite then and still is
Pure genius, Hard chords, Melodies galore.
Restoring lost articles a great one!
epic 😊
Anything Joe...... Totally Makes Sense To ME!! Joe Walsh For President !!!!
here's the per funk dery "it's County Fair" comment. lolone of the all time great songs
I was a bigger Joe Walsh fan than Eagles fan when "smokin" Joe Walsh was still his own band.
fine album no doubt....toughest track is "Song for Emma" very somber and refective by Joe after the tragic death of his young daughter Emma....
I close my eyes and listen to that Guitar solo . Such a cool track .
I listen to a "best of" CD in my car,but I always listen to this, over and over and over.
Thinkin I'm gonna quit before I'm a puzzle in an old folks home?
Do I love Donald Trump? at least he got slop jarts for old women and catherisation for old men ? He's as most good as Napoleon bonapatree**
You're a moron to post this here.
More out -door toilets in AMERICA ..donald Trump said??? let's make Ameerica wait agin for more rural toilets in AMERICA ..Just say AMEN*..DONALD*
This album is pure artistry from beginning to end. It reveals a deep and reflective side of Mr. Walsh. It was the first of his that I bought and I still have it. I would have to agree with Mr. Platt but I think that I would modify it to say that every track is among the greatest of all time.
Yes I kind of agree with you - I appreciate what you're saying. But I would modify your comment by saying that every track on this fine album has its own unique character. This is a feat that, in an attempt to not have everything sounding like themselves, many try to pull off, but end up failing dismally, by being disparate, and losing coherence, continuity and identity. But in Joe's case, it worked spectacularly well, due to the attention to detail, coupled with that ever-present wry, self-effacing sense of humour, and his intelligent songwriting and playing. Although the album remains one of the greatest rock albums of the 70s, with not a duff track in sight, County Fair still towers way above all the other tracks because of its mystery and other-worldliness, and will forever be a total classic. Has anybody else ever recorded anything that even sounds remotely like it? No, and nobody ever will.
@Terry Platt Well said...
i feel so ripped off never hearing this on FM radio
Unbelievable track
tell us a story Joe make it a puzzle so we get to think play us some unearthly licks back it with organs & masterful drum licks. happy b-day u musicial genius. i hv always loved u i always will, some parts will always b @ the fair.
I remember at a young age listening to all my dad’s albums and all of the Joe Walsh ones really stood out to me. I remember thinking “this is it.” Goosebumps every time. Man I’m glad my dad has good taste. We still jam Joe to this day and I’m ok with that never changing. Long live Joe Walsh
amazing masterpiece of sonic delight
indeed!
I use to bang my girlfriend to this album on a daily basis this was one of our favorite songs I was 16 so was she so we could fuck for hours this was such a great album sophomores in high school so many great memories how I miss those days 😎
This is my favorite song Joe. It will be played at my funeral.
Is it just on my LP? Someone wrote on the rim after the song All Night Laundry Mat Blues on side A "That's no banany, that's my noze." Just wondering if it's on all of the records? LOL! By the way is that rim called the "run out"?
back in the day some bands would write funny shit on the run outs. The Eagles did too.
This is my favorite track on my Joe Walsh LP. Yep,I just pulled my Garrard Z2000B turntable from the garage, and this record is in prime condition. To think that I was going to sell a turntable that I saw on Craigslist for almost $400.00!
nice! I remember it was all about the cartridge (needle)! If you paid a lot for one it sounded so much better!
Marantz receiver too?
Joe Walsh has been my hero as long as I can remember. I've always enjoyed the things he's chosen to sing about, things close to my heart. It would absolutely tickle my ass to meet joe before he takes the dirt nap....
What a TREMENDOUS guitar cut! I wonder if anyone who isnt a guitar player can really appreciate it
I appreciate the hell out of it & I don't play so..
Any one know how to play the part where he's singing on guitar? I've learned the rest.
Thanks T.
If you were a teenager in the 70's and you didn't like Joe Walsh then what the hell did you like...FARK. !!!
yes it is county fair ,not country ,but whos counting .this is a brilliant song by a most comedic guitar genious.so many obscure hits
one of my favorite joe walhs songs of alltime.
A powerful melody.
rides again was a great album also
Yes , The James Gang records were very good !
Reminds me of Neil Young's cowgirl in the sand.
Damn, where is a spliff when you need one? A classic in the first order.
One of the best songs ever!
Agreed... opens a wormhole in the continuum to the first time I heard it!
"So What" has got to be one of my favorite all-time albums. Every time I listen to it, I remember some fine times. I think of a friend who got me interested in Joe Walsh at this time (1974). The Smoker you Drink album was an excellent one too, but this one was just the beginning of Joe Walsh's rise to super stardom (pre-Eagles). Oh Yes, ....life's been good to me.
County dumbass
I had the privilage to ask JW where this song came from...he told me " I was stoned and went to a County fair"...can't really argue with that....wish he had gone to an Olympic games....man that would have been an album!!
So peaceful........ Have always loved Joe Walsh, great guitar player.
Joe Walsh Top 6!

this is great post is great
Still trippin' on this song. One of my all time favorites! Thank you Joe...
Good thing he joined the Eagles or he would have hurtled into oblivion
+Rm M That might well have happened. The Eagles saved him and he and they know that.
+Rm M ~~~ good thing for The Eagles.
I agree with you: Joe saved the Eagles more than they saved him.
it's COUNTY fair....jeez
For what it's worth, i think this song is called County Fair, not Country . . ..
that's not worth a hole lot,, and so what
a county fair is the country ain't it? win win
Joe kinda looks like Dale Earnhardt Sr. in that photo. lol
From Elvis thru the 50s /Beatles Etal To Today, When I make an All Time Favorite List This Haunting Mind Tripping Beauty will surely Post in Top 5 A superb piece done spectacularly in the Studio.
joe walsh omage
It's County Fair. I'm sure some people claim they went to Country Fairs, because they were in the country(side). But most of us attended more than a few county fairs, and are better for it.
COUNTY. COUNTY COUNTY. jesus fuck you are an uploader. get it right. its right there on the record. but thanks anyway
just snotty spooky haunting guitar on this....and some pretty good drumming too
I think this might be my very favorite Joe Walsh songs of. of all. Of a thousand Joe songs...that I love. and yeah...I just went there and said it. Thank you Adam Tensor for the upload. great audio. but get your spelling right. it is COUNTY
