We separated for 20 years, taking different roads. We found each other and have been on that wonderful road for 8 years now! So glad for this second chance.
If anything, this song deepens my appreciation of the fact that my wife and I did indeed take that road, and we have been happily married for 35 years and have loads of children and grandchildren. Thank you, Joe!

@exacerbatedtaboo I'm glad you were able to post it because I'd never heard this one & I thought I knew all of his songs. I haven't heard anything about Joe Diffie for a long time. Wonder what he is doing now? He had fun, witty songs and some very nice ballads, too. So much of country music today isn't country - it's pop music & some of it's not even very good pop! Like you said, Joe Diffie songs from that time period really take me back to a great time in my life.
