Joe Diffie - In Another World Lyrics
Sun stuck high in the air
Destination anywhere this road decides to go
Underneath the desert sky
I find a place to hide and rest my weary bones
This underpass will shade the heat
There you are with your hair all down
And your feet are bare, in your cotton gown
What a beautiful sight, in the moonlight
The way you're lookin' at me with your lovin' eyes
You let me know that for all my life
You will always be my only girl
But that's another place in time, back when you were mine
In another world
I climb inside, her hair is red, I thank her for the ride
She talks the miles away
I nod and smile and try to say anything to be polite
But as the darkness ends the day
Another voice whispers my name
There you are with your hair all down
And your feet are bare, in your cotton gown
What a beautiful sight, in the moonlight
You let me know that for all my life
You will always be my only girl
But that's another place in time, back when you were mine
In another world
There you are with your hair all down
And your feet are bare, in your cotton gown
What a beautiful sight, in the moonlight
The way you're lookin' at me with your lovin' eyes
You let me know that for all my life
You will always be my only girl
But that's another place in time, back when you were mine
In another world
In another world

Joe Diffie In Another World Comments
Lame ass
Huh, I've listened to, and loved this song my entire life. And I've never known Joe Diffie sung it until now.
I love smoking pot late at night a then playing this song as I fall asleep on the front porch or in my '62 Chevy Nova.
Absolutely love the diffie
Joes best song
omg, haven't heard this song in ages!
best song to high on in the deep night.
🖤🖤
I'm here! March 2018
I heard this song on 104.1
Yeah I was looking for the song for a little bit I was wondering what the title was this was a awesome song back in 02.
And this cover likely came out many years later.
Love this song! I remember when it first came out, it was definitely a different sound for Joe, or at least it was a lot more contemporary than what he was usually known for. However, there's no doubt that it's still a true country song. This is what more modern country should be like, imo.
Probably the most underrated song in the world.
perfect country song
Bar none one of the best country music songs of the 2000's or anytime for that matter!!!!
This song reminds me of someone I screwed up with. This man can sing!
Same here
Same here damn
Me too .thankfully I got mine back 15 years later
Same here.
Same but i found closer
Joe Diffie is an all time great!!!! I miss your music bud.
a true country great
COUNTRY DURING THESE FEW YEARS HAD SOME GREAT SONGS INCLUDING THIS ONE. IT WAS AN EXCITING TIME FOR A LOT OF YOUNG COUNTRY FANS, EARLY 2,000'S.
A lot of good stuff came out but the radio gods were in the process of shutting out certain artists. The era of Kenny Chesney began and his songs designed for the college kids gave birth to the garbage we have today.
You are speaking of "Tractor Rap"....
John Hyde ... I just call country rap CRAP.
Scott89878 While I do love most early 00's country, I have to agree that one of the only downsides was the phasing out of some of the 90's artists. But at least artists like Joe, John Michael Montgomery, Diamond Rio, Trisha Yearwood, Patty Loveless, Chely Wright, Mark Chesnutt, Tracy Byrd, Mark Wills, Travis Tritt, Aaron Tippin, etc. were still getting airplay for a little while before they disappeared from radio for good. Also agree that Kenny changing his music and image to the beach bum/frat boy style was the beginning of the downhill slide. In my opinion, 2004 is when the genre truly took a nosedive.
i love this song so much it moves me
ain't nothing like country music and Never will be!
I love this song :)
Absolutely amazing a song!
Great in concert!!!
i had friend that sent me this and i dont understand . what does that mean

The song is about your true love that you once had and reflect back from time to time.
I saw Joe diffie in myrtle beach sc, last night. He was great. His voice is just as good now as it was 20 years ago.
And this isn't him then or now. This is a cover band.
Is there an actual music video to this song? I've exhausted my resources to find an actual video for this song created by Joe Diffie.
I saw an actual music video for this song probably about 20 years ago on CMT. I haven't been able to locate it since.
Thanks, Mark. I'll see if it can be purchased somewhere.
it's official i have Joe Diffieitus i can't stop listening to his songs on youtube
I know your comment was 3 years ago but I am on a Joe Diffie kick the last month!! Great talent here. They don't make good country music like this anymore. :(
Best song!
I saw him at the Delta Fair last year it was awesome
4 funkeiros brasileiros não gostaram disso. (four brazillian funks don't like it)

Who's the jackass that gave this song a thumbs down?
@joe23ba Well, excuse me!
thousands of dollars of computer equipment, HD, and people keep putting up videos that look like they were filmed in the 20s, go figure
Actually, this song was released in 2001. :)

One of my favorite Joe Diffie songs. LOOOOOOOOOOOOVE IT!!!!!!!!!!!
I love this song!!! I remember when I first heard this song when I was six years old and I loved it!
awesome
This is for sure Joe's best song. A beautiful marriage of lyrics and music. A fine tribute to the songwriters that wrote this song.
HEY FUCK YOU!!!!
petey ur full of shi..unless ur a hot woman...
hes my boy i know way better than that....
He's mainly playing county fairs and bars i think. but he's still doing it!
The night after 9/11, driving home from work, this song was playing on KZLA. Though it was a heartbreak song, the chords and melody struck me as so heroic, it was the perfect soundtrack for the streets of crowds marching, chanting, holding flags, being patriotic. Musically, it was the perfect song for that night, and it'll always remind me of that time. And Joe Diffie is always one of my biggest country favorites.
me too man
such great music from a great country artist!! and such romantic music!!!!
You and me both.
I have been looking for this song everywhere!! Thanks so much for adding it.
I have seen Joe Diffie in Augusta Ga. where I live. His live show is absolutely awesome. This is one of his many hits that he sang at this show. His son also sang, great voice.
Great song, reminds me of years ago, another time in my life that will never exist again!Makes me wonder about all the choices i have made.
"in the moonlight" reminded me of my two best friends and i dancing in one's shed, we left the door slightly ajar, so as to be dancing in the moonlight. "for all my life" i always had a vision of seeing my car leaing our street for the last time. i'm surprised at the young age of seven this song was so deep to me.
i've been looking for this song for awhile. it first came out close to when i moved with my family from colorado, where i had tons of friends and was very upset to leave it all behind. this song always made me cry when it came on, and i'm thrilled i found it again, thanks for posting it.
Another great song by another great country music artist who is among the large number of great country music artists presently being overlooked and neglected by Nashville.
