Joe's best. And you can interpret that any way you like and it will still be true. Every note breath and phrase is cock on. Even the brevity complements the sincerity of the song. Less is so very much more Joe

The voice is made for this soulful tune.He is absolutely my favorite singer. I think his singing got better with age.more soulful with experience in life.

Cocker's versions of songs are often the best version of said song.

Wow that's an awesome piece of info, considering the Pink Floyd nod at one point in this song.

In his later years, he didn't have a reg band.  He picked up local musicians for his concerts, I gathered that since at least two performances the band was playing using sheet music--I kid you not.  However, with his performance, his voice--he cld have had a high school trio and it still would have been awesome.  I'm glad I also caught his concerts in the early years too!
