Joe Bonamassa - Had To Cry Today Lyrics

It's already written that
Today will be one to remember
The feeling's the same as
Being outside of your door

Had to cry today
Well I saw your sign
And I missed you there

I'm taking the chance to see
The wind in your eyes while I listen
You say you can't reach me
But you want everyone to be free

Joe Bonamassa Had To Cry Today Comments
  1. D.... C....

I'm beginning to understand... you truly are a blessing!

  2. R.... F....

Joe Bonamassa is an amazing player, however the way to really trascend into music is to create

  3. z.... ....

a great performance, overedited. no one wants to see your fancy camera pulls thru the crowd and spinning shots. ugh. focus on the musicians.

  4. l.... y....

This was before stardom just as hot today he always does 200% no matter he's sang it 100 times per pro

  5. T.... S....

    5 string bass is amazing.

  6. D.... M....

I wish the editor of this clip would have had half a brain. This flipping back and forth is like some amateur out of the 60's. Why do people watch a Joe Bonamassa video? To see Joe Bonamassa. I can see showing the drummer and bassist as they are good, but give me a break.

  7. R.... 8....

As a bass player when I first saw this cool bass technique Czar used in the beginning I didn't think my POS Ibanez would have the sustain or pick up the vibration off the pickups. With increased gain/volume, it does. Problem is feedback and this is why I like this solo so much. Perfect. That is one badass custom bass bro and I like that jacket that says "Fuck you, I have enough Fenders."

  8. R.... a....

É difícil não gostar desse cara!

  9. j.... e....

ya know, i got shit to do. i love Joe. it dinnae mean a thing. i prefer him,

  10. E.... H....

    The crowd says it all...

  11. e.... ....

Sounds as good today as yesteryear

That drummer is a damn powerhouse

  14. L.... V....

Love it when it gets heavy !

  15. L.... V....

    Hooked !

  16. J.... L....

Great song. Shit version tho. Chord change absolutely kills it

  17. M.... G....

    This is pretty fucken awesome

  18. M.... H....

Paid $6 to see Joe at Santa Fe brewing company with Ryan mcgarvey Several Years ago. Incredible show. So fortunate to know of him before stardom.

  19. N.... B....

    9:32 that's 11 seconds of ouch, lol

  20. D.... R....

I saw him in Plymouth Devon England 11 OCT 2018 ... Joe and the band were amazing... wish i'd seen him a decade ago!! Thanks for takin' the trouble to get the ferry over from France to England and on to Plymouth...take care you guys, LOVE & RESPECT to you and the band!

  21. a.... a....

Rock music is nothing , if you are "in", Joe was in trouble with himself , he played violent riff and got delicious solo

  22. R.... M....

I always thought that this was JB's best lineup. IT seemed to me that Czar pushed Joe out of his comfort zone to maybe another level. Anyway I wish that they would have played together longer. Props to Kramme on drums too.

    R.... M....

Agreed, Eric's not a pocket bassist and there was pretty much two lead guitars when they played, they could of made this a progressive trio, its ashamed because I haven't seen Eric since.

  23. M.... G....

Well I never thought I'd hear this song get butchered but I guess I was wrong

  24. B.... H....

This whole concert is amazing. Only thing that bothers me is when they pan the audience, there are like 2 women in the crowd. Sort of like the old Rush concerts! Women dont like rock and roll?

  25. c.... h....

This concert got me hooked for life. Since seen him live but always favour this. ELECTRIC!!!

  26. P.... u....

    Титомир!

  27. M.... C....

    Tabs for 1:53 - 3:00

  28. L.... G....

    wow Joe the best. 🎸

  29. P.... A....

Joe quotes something at about 2:58... Someone recognize what it is? Maybe Santana?

  30. P.... A....

  31. J.... S....

Blind Faith version is just too great, the guitar solos are awesome. Joe 's version is loud.........

  32. .... P....

    Заебись

  33. E.... O....

i wish there was like a 10 hour block of the first 1:45 of the song!

  34. M.... C....

Yep Eric Czar's right up there with Stanley Clarke.

  35. E.... ....

the Radiohead "High and Dry" beat

  36. J.... D....

WOW...who are the 17 PPL who didn't like this...what are you daft???....killer musicianship

  37. H.... M....

Ja, der gute Joe Bonamassa war mal ein richtig geiler Blues-Rocker...
    ...bevor er den Kommerz entdeckte.

  38. M.... ....

The bassist, Eric Czar looks a lot like Jack Cassidy, from the good old days. His playing is out-friggin'-standing. Super excellent.

    M.... ....

You must be old like me!!!!!! First saw Jack Cassidy in '68 at the old Carosel Ballroom in SF, as the "new" Jefferson Airplane knocked it silly. Thought Jack was the coolest! Marty Balin, Yorma K., and this gorgeous chick named Grace Slick! She was dressed as Robin Hood and at the break at the goodie stand (we all had munchies! :-)) she stood right behind me, I turned and she smiled a smile to melt me! Then the Dead played. What a buzzing night! I, too, thought of Jack C. immediately! Rockin' on!

    M.... ....

Yep, 63, loved the Airplane. Loved Slick. She sure was a pretty thing. But we all grow older. I used to be pretty too. I've been a pro guitar player for 50 years, almost famous. Those were the days huh?

    M.... ....

Thanks Rick! I moved to San Jose, Ca. in Jan. '62 and began my 48 year career in the finish building supply business. My love from early days was the budding blues, R & R music. First 2 concerts were in '58-'59 in Eugene, Or...Jerry Lee Lewis and Fats Domino..sat in folding chairs right in front of them and they smiled at me and my buddy. In the Bay Area 21 years, I have seen the greatest of the greats..the list is too long for here....but McCartney and Linda "Wings Over America" tour then Eric Clapton, both at the SF Cow Palace. Seen Bonnie Raitt (LOVE HER!), Doc and Merle, Lynryd Skynyrd (3 times the originals) ..always closing with "Freebird" for some 15 minutes of mayhem!! Robin Trower, Joe Cocker, Kinks, Leon Redbone, Crosby, Stills, Nash, and Young (4 times in various groupings and venues), Joan Baez, B.B. King (WOW!), Janis Joplin before she did Woodstock..oh my, such awesome memories of fun (as I remember). As Timothy Leary said.."If you remember the '60's, you weren't there!" :-) Gonna' see Joe Bonamassa (my new hero) 10/16/17 in Eugene, Or. at the Hult Center..9 rows back orchestra ($125. per). Never stop rockin' brother!

    M.... ....

Ken Skeen When.my phone went off I was happy to see it was your reply post. Thanks for the very cool stories, I can only wish for those days. Joe Bonamasso has that special something when he is on stage, I'm not gonna say ' perform ". Its an experience to see him pour his essence and soul through his guitar. Yes there are great guitarists that are right on technically and hit all the notes but Joe is beyond that. When Clapton requests playing with you, you know there is something very special going on.
Joe seems down to earth and not filled with himself and is quite generous. How many artists give away albums to download for free? I hope the show in October to see Joe is another special experience for you to add to all those great memories of the past.

  39. n.... ....

    Joe made me cry today...

  40. D.... ....

Wow, I loved this song on the Blind Faith album so much. First time I heard it, back than, it totally swept me of my feet. I remember those days, dancing the night away, having great bonfires at the beach, lots of friends, wine, fun cigarettes, nice food, LSD, oh my, what great memories of a time so long ago. Being a granny now, I am totally in awe how Mr. Bonamassa does a great job with his version of this song. This time the cover totally matches up with the original. Thanks for sharing.

    D.... ....

I am so with you DirkjeA!!!!! All the above. We lived in La Selva Beach below Aptos on the Monterey Bay. What parties...medical LSD, indica pure, and a touch of medical coke. Oh Lord! I am 76 now and never thought I'd make 60! I, too, am a grandpa and old! Man was it fun or what!?

    D.... ....

Ken Skeen hehe that's cool. good times. I'm from 83, born too late dammit :-)

  41. N.... B....

Joe Bonamassa gives me goosebumps every time I see him play, the hair on my arm is standing up right now. He's F'ing amazing.

  46. R.... 8....

One of the best power trios ever. Czar plays 10 and 12 string bass now. Dont know what happened to Kenny. This is Joe Bonamassa raw and at his best. He plays better here than he does today, in my opinion. One of the best lead guitarists and bassists together on stage. Hey, Kenny kicked ass. Tight as hell with Czar. Favorite DVD by far.

    R.... 8....

RPG 808 I concur, think this trio was the coolest 'joe bonamassa ' experience. Bought this rockpalast dvd the only time i saw him 8-9 years ago in ghent, belgium
