Jody Watley - Still A Thrill Lyrics

You know it's funny, funny how time flies
As I watch days turn into years
You never know if it will last forever
You can only try to keep it new

Late around midnight
When you're holding me near
It feels so good to me
Feel like crying those tears

It's still a thrill
When you hold me
It's still a thrill
When you're loving me

Your passion, passion moves me
Like the ocean runs so deep
I'm walking in this mile for you
Just to get the things you do

Feels like the first time
When we met
Your charms still overwhelms me
Tell me, how can it be?

It's still a thrill
When you hold me
It's still a thrill
When you're loving me

People think that prince originated this sound but actually this is the Minneapolis sound that prince didn't create but took credit for in being the most famous artist from that region ........ they're were many other artists from that time and place who created the sound but didn't get the credit they deserved.......I could name quite a few.......

  11. J.... T....

  29. m.... t....

When Ms Jody hit it big with her 1st solo and career, they were saying she was the Black version of Madonna, NOT EVEN CLOSE. This woman is not only classy, sophisticated, knows how to carry herself, Knows how to move. Talented and So Sexy, But yet if you watch all her videos, she is pretty much covered up, Madonna always looked dirty trashy and slutty. Love Jody!!!

  36. C.... O....

I totally see her influence on Solange. Jody was the Bomb. Of Course you hear the Prince influence in the Andre Cymone production. This still slaps in 2019❤️

  37. G.... N....

    She is beautiful!

  38. T.... R....

I wanna dive in, and dance with her

  39. W.... G....

I can see her and Prince doing a duet together. Her moves, Prince's dancing and singing, would of been awesome!
It's a shame Prince died, and we never got to see something like that happen.
I believe Jody would of been great, performing along side Prince! What do you think?

  40. D.... O....

The original #LookQueen. Jody is quite underrated/under-appreciated, IMO. Truly, she is one in a million. In person, she is darling and charming. LOVE, her!

  41. T.... C....

This video is still a thrill!!!😂🤣 Loved it then. Love it now. 2019 ❤❤❤

  48. H.... T....

This was soooooooooo Epically cool when it Dropped I couldn't understand why this song wasn't more Impactful at the time ??? Jody was Beautiful, Sexy, Cool and Talented ( Love you Jody)

  49. a.... m....

I bought a cassette of yours having this song and a lot of other hits in 1980's when I was a teenager college going girl and a great music lover not only in those days but also today.I liked this cassette very much ,I kept on playing it over and over again, it's music is superb and I still like it very much.In those days we had stereo type of music systems only, but we loved this music in those days too, but now we have mashaAllah decks in our homes and cars and this music of 1980's becomes more effective and sweet to hear through these new electronic gadgets. Your videos are also nice,we like your belts very much and the way you dressup.I have recently seen a clip of an interview of yours,It seems as if you have gained weight, please lose weight ma'am,because we ,your fans always like to see you healthy and in good shape. May God Allah bless you and your entire band, keep creating nice songs Judy.Rawalpindi,Islamic Republic of Pakistan, Asia.

  50. S.... ....

Jody is so chic and sophisticated! Her style comes through so natural and effortlessly ...somethings you just can't teach no matter how much $ you have!

  51. p.... ....

I didn't realize Tyrone Proctor danced in this video. Two former Soul Train dancers - Tyrone from around 72 to 78, Jody from 75 to 78. Tyrone doing his whaacking moves, which he was doing back in 75 on the show.

  52. K.... M....

I'm pretty sure the dude with Jody in this video used to dance on Soul Train with her back in the day. Not sure what his name is...

  53. B.... L....

WOW I see where T Boz got here influence from off one song, like Roger got from Stevie Wonder when he used a autotune or talkbox in 1972 on a TV show.

  54. J.... S....

This song is funky! Wish she would have done a couple of more fun songs like this

    J.... S....

    phat thick stinky fooonk.

  55. c.... ....

    Aaliyah resembles her to me.

  56. L.... ....

HER ..BEST ..SONG ..VIDEO! Hit on the R&B charts, underrated on the mainstream charts ..This was the jam, though, w/ that Minneapolis influence, and I LOVED how she added the depth to her voice in this song (I read that T-Boz, TLC, was told to sing like how Jody was singing in this song) ..Watch her work that skirt and those stairs @ 2:38 (95% non-choreographed video!)

  57. F.... C....

This song is pure MPLS Sound !!
Not from its creator (Prince), not from the winning duo (Jam & Lewis) but from another great MPLS artist, André Cymone.
It seems true that for 3 years (between 1981 and 1984) the two long-time friends, André and Prince, were not exactly in good terms. But when Prince gave André the song The Dance Electric at the end of 1984, things got better between them.
This particular video can be seen as a French "clin d'œil" from André to his friend. It was shot in Paris. Besides it was in black and white.
Everybody knows how much Prince was in love with Paris at this time and the movie Under the Cherry Moon had been released (in black and white) just one year before.

Also to be noticed : the way the male dancer moves. It definitely reminds me of In the Closet by Michael Jackson...

  58. W.... O....

    Soooooo beautiful

  59. g.... ....

I tried my best to not 2 think Jody Watley was super fine and sexy but couldn't stop staying addicted to her and her music! even now she fine asf! Glad she had a lot too do with helping transition R&B music back then!

  60. o.... ....

Jody was the first and only ARTIST of the time, allowed to film a video in the Opera De Paris.

  61. T.... W....

Low key vogue in this video. Her hands. She was cute in her day but her stage presence was fierce. JODY

  62. B.... P....

    underrated artist!

  63. B.... f....

This song is as bad as they come. Bad =good of course

  64. K.... G....

    Prince vibe , classic .🌟

  65. t.... m....

Jody was just as talented as Beyonce. I wonder why she's not worth 300 million. I guess she wasn't pop enough or didn't show enough booty.

  66. D.... S....

How come I still remember the dance moves in 2019?? I Love Jody W 💖

  67. l.... l....

How she ended it in a red dress! Classic!

  68. J.... C....

This is when I first was introduced to voguing!

  69. T.... D....

Jody Watley. Stunning, talented woman. I was 15 in 1987.. and she was my top lady.

  70. S.... B....

I always loved Jody Watley fashion style, singing, dancing and most importantly her hair.

  71. C.... W....

OMG I LOVE EVERY OUTFIT IN THIS VIDEO. IT IS 2019 AND IT IS STILL FLY...TO ME. LOL

  72. J.... L....

"I'M GOING HOME NOW.... WHERE ARE MY KEYS?......Bitch,.....Work!!

  73. J.... P....

THE DANCE STYLE IS NOT VOGUE , IT'S CALLED WAACKING AND IT'S A TOTAL DIFFERENT THING. (Pd: the dancer is the legendary Tyron Proctor not Willi Ninja omg) vogue and waacking are total different things

  74. E.... R....

Used to dance with that guy at Monster in NYC...lol...

  75. L.... F....

Still a thrill yeaaaa get it gurl!!! Bumpin this shit in 2019!!

  76. E.... R....

If Michael Jackson was a woman ❤❤

  77. A.... S....

Well, as good as David Fincher's Vogue is, Madonna and him took the idea from Jody Watley's Still a Thrill. From the Black and white photography, the Art Museum settings, the old Hollywood glamour with 80s street fashion, and obviously the Vogue dancing.

  78. G.... M....

I've loved this song and video for 30 years, but I still cringe every time I watch the opening. Why was the camera shaky? Was the camera or cameraman not secure on the dolly?

  79. O.... G....

Vogue'ing right here but Madonna got the credit for that years later.

  80. A.... C....

This was the follow up to looking for a new love and was surprised it was not as big. This was why I got the disc.....I read somewhere the majority did not respond well to the low key she sings it in. I actually like it. I believe it was Tina Turner who also released a song she sang in her lower key range - why must we wait until tonight..... something like that......it was an awesome song but mainstream did not really accept it.....

  81. c.... k....

    Has a Grace Jones vibe

  82. N.... B....

Jody Watley wasn't mining a subculture for cool points. I think that's the difference between her and Madonna. She was a part of this subculture.

  83. h.... ....

And she did it without five million dancers

  84. I.... ....

#1 Jody Watley FAN checking in!!

  85. T.... C....

I KNOW the gay clubs in the 80s was popping with this song

  86. .... B....

I have figured out one thing about all of these songs and that is I like the original version of all songs like the one above and I HATE the remixes, extended versions, 12", etc. etc. I find all of those annoying! Just give the original version!!!

  87. A.... J....

    Reminding me Janet Jackson

    A.... J....

Jody had hits in groups and solo artist before Janet Jackson released albums.

  88. T.... S....

She was friends with jermaine Stewart...the guy who sang"we don't have to take our clothes off (to have a good time). He made a song called"everybody wants a piece of Jody"...lol.i think it was about her.You can find the video on YouTube. Rest in peace Jermaine Stewart! Shout out to jody Watley, Andre Symone(Princes' lifelong friend and former bandmember who was once married to Jody Watley) ....and all of the Minneapolis music movement.R.I.P to Vanity and Prince....

  89. K.... D....

    Yes it is ...

  90. C.... R....

JODY wasn't know Mfer Joke I Loved Her STYLE BETTER THAN Janet Jackson All Day

Jody, I have so many favorites by you. But I love this Minneapolis funk more than anything! If I live to be 95 years old, this jam will get me outta my wheelchair and have me moving! 😁

  96. K.... G....

I sure wish I could go to Georgia to see her! A dream come true it would be!

  97. R.... S....
