Jimmie's Chicken Shack - This Is Not Hell Lyrics
If this is hell
Well that's fine with me
All of the wonder presumable happily
Eager to follow
The fool that's got into
We don't have any doubt
We're out there making friends
Unconciously rolling through
Meanings from pollings
The answers are meaner sometimes
Than the means to our ends
So this is hell
What else could it be?
Bask in the glories of glorified stories
Broken himself from the weave
We are not making sense
Who really cares just how we feel
Infantile ramblings of penniless gamblings
A fist full of hands swinging clubs
At our new baby zeal
Yeah right
You think this is hell
Would you care to bet
Capture the beauty of domestic duty
The hampers are full and our
Laundry's perpetually wet
Think about traveling south
Find the right something
You might have left
Endless the road
Which you past to explode
Actions remain base
But intentions in treble clef
Yeah right
This is not hell
This is purgatory
Caught here in limbo
I.Q. of a dim bulb
How many gods does it take
To screw in the likes of me
You'd think one day that I might learn
Stare in the light and you cannot see
I've opened my doors of perception
And can't get them shut
Now I feel fucked for free
Everyday, yeah, I feel fucked for free
Everyday, yeah, I feel fucked for free
Everyday, yeah, we're all fucked
I left my brain inside of my other head
You don't impress me, don't depress me
Don't suppress me, just get undressed
I left my brain inside of my other head
The teachers test me, my father blessed me
The pigs arrest me, I get upset
Boo hoo...

These are the most profound lyrics ever! The song is so far ahead of its time I'm listening to it in the future. Wishing you all an amazing weekend ♡
The connotations of this song are even more prevelant today, than the day it was written.
What an under rated and appreciated album and Band.
actions remain bass but intentions in treble clef …. use that line
a lot , when people ask , ' How you doin ? '
best song on the album
90s man 90s
Thank you for bringing good quality Jimmy’s Chicken Shack. In 08 they had like 3 videos and they sucked lol
A Criminally underrated band!
Awesome song. Super fresh guitar riff on the verse.
unreal lyrics
our soundtrack of liFe.....
Got to see these guys open for 311 in Jackson Hole back in the mid 90's. Totally awesome. Smoked a doobie w/Jimmy during 311's set.
the last third of this song is a pop gem. the 'i left my brain inside of my other head' etc part is brilliant and catchy as hell!!! the cadence of the words, the vocal melody, guitar, bass and drums are all perfects compliments to each other.
God bless thr radio I woulf have never have found this band if not for radio
@gosh father I vaguely remember seeing them and a band called Wyrm coming out about the same time. Those were my Santa Cruz days, so things are kinda fuzzy. I still can't quite place that other band.
Hermunkle, oh I miss my fuzzy days. This song is so good on acid. It's good regardless, but phenomenal on acid. The opening guitar sets a nice happy tone, then the drums come in and jar anyone listening. Good times.
This dudes a genius. This song is so real its funny. Who knos if anyone really gets it..!
@Laura Hull
I get it
I would just like to say that these dudes are really cool, they used to come to my hometown for shows and interview on our radio station back when I was about 13. I remember they were one of my favorite bands and my old man took me to one of their broadcasts before a show and the next day we played hacky sack for a bit, it made my day.
Going to see Jimi HaHa and accomplices tonight in Winchester Va. Can't wait!!
Well, thanks for the upload.
